Resumo: We are ready and open to invite a new pair of volunteers and start a new project very soon: from April 2012 to December 2012 (8 months). So this call is very urgent.
Katowice – the city is located in southern Poland, the seat of the region of Silesia, formerly the province of Katowice, the main center of the Upper Silesian Industrial District (in the past years). With the number of 306 826 inhabitants is 10 city in the country in terms of population and 11th in terms of area, with nearly 165 km².
Katowice is a city with huge bag of experiences. Many years ago it was a heart of Industrial District, but after transformation it begins to change more and more. Katowice wants to be attractive by opening new areas of interests for big companies, students and tourists. They apply for high honors like: an European Capital of Culture, but on the other hand this obliges the rulers of the city to grow the quality and standards, so here on that point job for our future volunteers starts – they have to check it. Are the rulers of Katowice city really do something for its’ citizens?
The Bona Fides makes plenty of monitoring and researches and we see, that we still have to fix many things and make them better. Thanks to our previous volunteers we gave many of reports, which have shown the deficiencies we still have. Now I'm sending you an invitation to make it better.

Perfil: Are you interested in human/civil law? You would like to share your opinion with others? You are searching for the truth? You would like to learn something more about making monitoring? Would you like to know something more about Poland, but much more about Silesia region and Katowice? You are curious about our history, culture, language? You would like to make new Polish (and not only) friends, to help others? Share your knowledge and culture? This project is for you! We are looking for a girl. All the application are welcomed!

Tarefas: The main activities will be: 1.WATCHDOG activities – run own monitoring of: •Public and non – public private institutions. There will be around 8 monitoring; •To explore Katowice – check places of interests, public places, monuments, parks, join events in Katowice and share their remarks to others on their EVS blog. The staff of Bona Fides will prepare a special map and a calendar of important dates, which the volunteers will have to check and explore; •City councilors – we don’t know them very well, as they appear only during the elections time, but we are monitoring them and checking what kind of essential things they’re making for us?; •Regional Office – a Department for Foreigners – this is the most serious point of all the project. The Association wants to check how officials treat foreigners who need their help. We have some signals about the quality of service of public officials and we don’t like it necessarily. This will be a real challenge to make things better, to help other foreigners and to make this case very big and known; 2.A mission of a volunteer: •“Hey, I’m a volunteer!” – this is a section of activities – we would like to promote Youth in Action Program, show its’ possibilities and chances it gives to youth better. We would like to involve our volunteers in the process of information we give about – Program, voluntarism, NGOs’. You can do this by: Day of the City, Day of NGOs’, Markets of NGOs’, meetings, conferences, visiting schools and other places; 3.Serve to local community: •There are plenty of possibilities here: volunteers can be involved in meetings and events at Nikiszowiec – the district of Katowice where they will live in. Ther is “CAL” the Centre of Local Activity on Nikiszowiec which they can support. The “CAL” organizes some meetings and events for habitants of Nikiszowiec. There are about 3 events during the year that volunteers could help with (“Święto Sąsiada” – the Day of Neighbor, “Barburka” – St. Barbaras’ Day, “Odpust Świętej Anny” – St. Annas’ Day); 4.This is your time!: •This is your time, feel welcome in Katowice! We don’t know you yet, but we are already happy for all of your own ideas and initiatives! We are ready and open to help you with it! So the last point – point no. 4 will be your own point.
