Resumo: The organization’s mission is to be a health promoter for children and young people (3-30 years old). We strengthen and support a sensitized and solidarity-based society able to develop the health and well-being of its children and young people in a high-quality, sustainable and participative manner.
The organziation wants to achieve this mission through various health projects (healthie*-workshops, online and offline health content, health campaigns), activities (children's and youth holidays, playground activities, children's events) & training (animator/youth leader trainings, training courses, peer to peer education) and does this for, by and with children and young people. This happens locally, supra-locally and internationally.
As a health promoter, the organizaition wants to have an impact on children and young people, always starting from its youth work DNA: in a fun and playful way.
The organization's specific core tasks are: health projects, activities & holidays, trainings, international youth work and giving a voice to young people through our online platform ZAPmag.
Through health projects, the organization gives substance to the concept of health, makes the concept explicit for its target groups and aims to have a concrete impact in the field of positive attitudes and behaviors regarding health in children and young people.
Through activities & holidays, the organization creates space for children and young people to play and therefore also a space to live: an active and healthy lifestyle, learning to function in a diverse group, gaining new experiences, pushing boundaries, ...

Perfil: Age: 21-30
You need to be at least 18 years old, but we prefer volunteers from 21+ years old with some life experience. If you are younger, don't let it hold you back to apply, convince us that you're the right person for this project! If you have already some Dutch knowledge or you're motivated to practice Dutch in preparation of your stay, you have more chance to convince us. Some maturity will be expected, as you will have to work both in teams and independently. A willingness to give your time to the Youth Work field, anyone trying to gain experience for future career possibilities in this field has a better chance to receive this position. If you are naturally in favor of healthy habits and promoting a healthy lifestyle, you are the one we're searching!

Tarefas: Are you interested to volunteer for one year in Belgium?
Ready to enhance your social-cultural skills and your role as a trainer in front of various youth groups?
Are you interested in learning group dynamics, promotion of a healthy lifestyle, do you enjoy going on camps with kids and youngsters and are you interested in International Youth Work?
Then you are the person we're looking for! What exactly?
Full-time volunteer work (4 or 5 days a week, +-30 hours a week). At various social organizations, including schools, local youth work organisations and support of the international youth work projects.
Mostly in Belgium, but there will be a couple of international opportunities as well.

Condições: Travel costs are covered (up to a certain amount). Your accommodation will be provided by us in Gent You will receive food allowance to live a basic life. Pocket money, resulting in 6€ a day, 180€ in a month. Additional insurance for your time at work and in your free time during your stay in Belgium. You will share this experience with another ESC volunteer, with whom you'll live in the same house (separate rooms).
