Resumo: The Aim of the Foundation is to develop a dialogue between young people aged 16 to 28 years and leading figures from politics, the economy and culture. They want to inform about the decision-making process in Europe and make it visible and tangible and therefor beneficial to the education of young people. Also they host discussions about European political topics that are important and relevant to young people to encourage them to engage in European political thinking and understanding. On the foundations program are lectures, seminars, debates, visits to embassies, exhibition visits, as well as EU Crash Courses at schools and exchange with ambassadors, federal Ministers, journalists, European Members of Parliament, EU Commissioners, Prime Ministers, scientists and artists, so young people are able to experience politics up-close and to take part in the political process. The foundation´s mission is to empower young people from all backgrounds to be active European citizens who contribute to a pluralistic, democratic society through their engagement and opinions, leading to mutual understanding, solidarity and peaceful collaboration across Europe. Part of it is the European Youth Parliament (EYP), a peer-to-peer educational program that brings together over 30 000 young people from across Europe every year to debate the pressing issues of our time.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
- very good knowledge of English (C1-C2) basics of German language will be appreciate.

- being interested in and enjoy administrative tasks as well as transcultural topics and global learning

Tarefas: The volunteer will experience the work in a European NGO and will exchange with young, politically interested and active Europeans* who are willing to commit to democracy and the participation in the society. Also will she/he support the team in the areas of event management, PR and communication as well as office management. Through the European Voluntary Service at the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe he/she acquires important key competences for his/her/its further professional and personal development. He/she develops competences, which are an important prerequisite for a later civil society commitment.

Horário: The weekly working hours will be 35-38 hours; five days a week, while language classes count as working time.

Condições: The pocket money will be 7 Euro/day in monthly payments.
The volunteer will be reimbursed for the costs of Deutschland Ticket (49€)

Because of the housing shortage in Berlin, it is very difficult for us to find a room for the volunteer. For this reason, it is very important that you are flexible about the accommodation: The volunteer is going to live in a host family or in a shared apartment in Berlin. A commute to work that takes up to 60 minutes is normal in Berlin.

The volunteer will receive food fee (313€).
