Resumo: The organization is an international federation of youth movements, which was established in 1962. Today, the organization unites 33 youth organisations, spread over 29 countries and 4 continents. The member organisations of the organization bring children and young people together during their leisure time, and give them the opportunity to meet, to play and to learn from each other in a non-formal way. All member organisations do this in their own, unique way, reflecting the diverse backgrounds and working environments that characterize our network.
The aims of the organization are:
To unite, support and empower its member organisations. FIMCAP offers opportunities for youth leaders to come together, to exchange and to inspire each other, on issues concerning youth and youth work. By creating a global community, the organization encourages cooperation and partnerships.
To help uncover and understand the needs of children and young people. the organization builds upon the local experiences of its members to track down the needs of young people and youth workers. Through exchange and collaboration, the organization facilitates discussions on effective ways to tackle these needs.
To be a voice of young people, by representing the member organisations in international bodies and platforms.
To build with and through young people a better world and a living Church.
