Resumo: The Hosting organization is an organisation that acts as a link between the local people who want to provide services free of charge, and those in need of receiving such service. The organization also links together different institutions and organizations in the community, thereby stimulating creative activities that contribute to making the town a good place for all to live in.
We work with people of all generations and with different background. We organize several meeting places for the local people. Those meeting places have diffrent consepts: some have small cultural activities, other just tee/coffee and small talk.
The organization has a long time experience with receiving volunteers from different countries. We are very happy to be able to host young people and to get to know other cultures, the local people are also familiar with the project and often looking forward to receive the new member of our little community.

The volunteer must enjoy outdoor activities in all kinds of weather. It is also important that the volunteer is open and enjoys socializing with people of all ages. It is preferred to have volunteers who are eager to experience new things and who take own initiatives.
It is important that he volunteers must be self assured, mature and adventurous. We want volunteers who are: creative, adoptable, able to work in team, are tolerant and respectfull to others and nature. Posess good communication and social skills. Willing to work at evenings and weekends (when needed in some instance).

The project objective is for the volunteer to gain new skills while the local community gains knowledge and increased understanding for other cultures. The aim is to develop your key competences and gain life experience through non-formal learning. The volunteers will learn about Norwegian coastal culture, what it is like to live in a small coastal municipality, how schools and kindergartens in Norway function, and the structures and functions of Norwegian
organizations and voluntary work.

Example of a month schedule:
Here you can see the draft of duties the volunteer will perform.
• It always varies depending on time of the year (in case there are school holidays or national days). There will occur some ocassional events in the village, which volunteer might be involved in. The volunteer is always going
to be informerd about plan changes in good itme.
• The proper schedule is going to be created in our cooperation with the volunteer after arrival during the first week. And during monthly meetings we are going to plan the schedule for the following month.
• Work time is between 30-36h a week. Every time the volunteer works 6h in a row there is a lunch break of 30min.
• Almost all of the work places are walking distance, when the transport is needed the volunteer will be informerd about it and can get the montly ticket in case there is a need for it. We also have a bike to the volunteers
