Resumo: YMCA Siderno has been involved for over seventy years in the training and support of young people, always promoting physical, moral and spiritual growth.
Currently made up of over 500 members, it is a reference point in the territory. It was founded by a group of volunteers. in 1948 and it soon became a meeting point for hundreds of young people.
The YMCA has been one of the first to get the affiliation to the Italian Basketball Federation.

Later on, it became one of the first organizations able to host groups of young people from other countries, allowing Calabria’s young people to experience the same. YMCA Siderno has always been, and it still is, the most important youth related organization in the whole territory.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Tarefas: Our organization carries out various programs and activities that address the needs and dreams of young people in our community. We work to find solutions to different kinds of problems, from global to local challenges.

- Community service;
- Cultural activities;
- Group discussions;
- Expression through art;
- Discovering our region

Many more activities are planned and will be implemented in the project.
Our volunteers are co-creators of every activity.
They will be involved and allowed to collaborate in the decision-making phase concerning what will happen during the implementation of the activities.

Horário: The project will be developed following a schedule that includes activities during the mornings and the afternoons. This will consist of around 6 hours of activities a day. The volunteers will have 2 days off during the whole project and these will be selected according to the established activities.

Condições: The accommodation provided are apartments equipped with a shared room and bathroom, electricity, water, internet connection, kitchen and a shared living room. Also, they are located 15 minutes walking from our main offices. Close to the accommodation you can find: bars, shops, gyms, restaurants and pharmacies. It is important to highlight that volunteers will be responsible for keeping the apartment and rooms clean.

Breakfast and lunch will be at the YMCA, and dinner will be up to the volunteers as they will receive food allowance for this. We will provide a vegetarian option to respect the volunteers’ diet.

The local transportation to programs outside the city of Siderno will be arranged by YMCA Siderno.
