Resumo: (ESC volunteering team project)
The hosting organization is a National Youth Centre supported and observed by Ministry of Education. We are specialised in youth work and our function is to devlop the methods used in the field of youth work. We work under the Finnish law covering youth work and by the Ministry of Education.
Our goal is to offer youngsters the possibilities of learning in multicultural environment and finding their own strengths and abilities through international activity.
Our work consists of international camps and programs, education, practical training and voluntary work for young people, information and guidance about international programmes, projects and coordination of voluntering projects.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
Participants are young people seeking new possibilities to their lives.
Volunteers can be unemployed, face educational, economic, social or physical challenges or have lpw language skills. We wish that the volunteers are interested in organizing events for local communities. There is no nned of previous experiences just an interest to try it out and learn more!

Tarefas: After the on-arrival- training volunteers will work on different tasks related to main topic.
with the guidance of our staff volunteers will b doing Christmas preparations and organizing Elf path for local kindergartens, families and other visitors in the forest near the organization.
Volunteers will act as elves and do different activities with the visitors on the pathe. Children, for example, can learn important elf skills such as peaking from windows, elf dance, finding presents etc.
We hope to find volunteers who are interested in acting and performing and working with children, even without a coomon languange. Another big event volunteers will organize and take part in is Elf Path public event, that is open to everyone to visit...
Part of the work is laso bringing Christmas spirit to the area by making elves and other decorations, as well as putting them on the path. Also volunteers will help cleaning and taking out Christmas decorations after the events.
Some volunteer will be in cherge of documentation of the whole project and will take part in different events, wich other volunteer are organizing. The team can use the media equipment that the organization has and use their own creativity for planning the methods of documentation.
We encourage participants to bring in their own ideas and competences when planning and realizing the content of the different events and activities organized during the project. Planning and preparation the teams tasks will include for example, making elf costumes, making Christmas decorations, planning games for children and planning how to promote intercultural learning.
Horário: The volunteer will work 5 days a week, approximately 35 hours. The working hoursare usually from 8-15 including lunch break, but sometimes work times can vary depending on events that we are taking part in, for example during public Elf Path event. In that case, work can also be inevening time for example from 14.00-20.00or 7.00-14.00.
Volunteers will have 3 holiday days.(Finland´s independency day 6.12 is also a public holiday).
Condições: Accommodation and meals:
During the project, the volunteers will livein Youth Centre. The accommodation is shared in our warm and cozy cottages that have kitchen, bathroom and all necessary equipment Therefore itrequires patience and flexibility, as you will live in the cottage with other people during the whole project.
Meals are served fully in the youth centre during orientation day and on arrival training, and during the rest of the project, volunteers will get lunch at youth centre on working days but prepare other meals themselves. For that, volunteers receive food money. Every Friday a person from staff goes to buy the food with couple of the volunteers withour van. The organization provides bedsheets and one towel.
Formação: First 2 days of the project will be orientation and on-arrival training in Youth Centre. The aim is to get know area, our rules, learn about volunteering program receive all useful information for your time here.
Also during on-arrival training you will get to know other volunteers better, think about your goals and motivation for the project, learn Finnish culture of course try sauna!
