Resumo: The Association offers full support to migrants, minors and all people at risk of social exclusion. Born in 1997, it develops its actions in the Region with the aim of promoting social action and environmental protection. From the beginning the Association helps all people with migratory status, with addiction problems, unemployed, people with economic difficulties, lack of social resources to face their difficulties and, in general, people at risk of social exclusion.
The objectives of the association are:
- To disseminate the results of the activities carried out by the association in the social, cultural, labour and educational areas;
- To give a speech and carry out concrete actions against racism, xenophobia and any action that may cause a violation of human rights;
- Promote employment and socio-cultural integration;
- Enhance the encounter between different peoples through the development of cultural events;
- To support cultural exchange by encouraging coexistence between different groups of people, as well as the recovery and promotion of popular traditions, especially those belonging to the Region and the specific aspects of each nationality that characterize the members of the association;
- To centralize the collection of solid waste, clothes, shoes, toys, paper, scrap metal, furniture, electrical appliances and all kinds of material that can be reused, recycled and/or recovered, with subsequent sale in shops, markets, or sending/selling to Third World countries.
- To fight against unemployment, social exclusion, xenophobia, racism and any other circumstance that nullifies the dignity of the person and creates a process of marginalization.
- To consolidate the multi-ethnic and intercultural group, formed by the members of the association, as a resource to promote social integration.
- To support transients and immigrants, promoting their social integration through the development of different activities.
Perfil: This project is aimed at young people between 18 and 30 years old who have not participated in any European volunteering project (EVS or ESC) before. We will give priority to the selection of young people with fewer opportunities.
The selection will be made based on the attitude, the willingness to participate, the motivation and the commitment to the values of the project rather than knowledge and skills of the candidates .
We value the responsibility, the spirit of initiative, the patience and the ability to step back from interpersonal conflicts in order to deal with them more effectively, and the enthusiasm and willingness to participate in the different activities offered.
No young person willing to participate in our project will be excluded for any reason (economic difficulties; social or geographical obstacles; cultural or ideological differences; sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, gender and gender identity, etc.)
Tarefas: The volunteer will have the opportunity to learn about all the actions developed the association:
Action 1. This project is focused on the integral educational improvement, having as a basis tools, values and skills that allow a real social integration. Comprehensive educational improvement project aimed at adolescents and young people who are at risk of social exclusion and are highly motivated to succeed.
Action 2: Community Intervention Project in the Villalba neighborhood, which seeks to promote associations by creating common spaces and meeting places for neighbors. Together with the technical team, our volunteer will support the activities carried out in one of the green areas.
Action 3: This community action project is carried out with the aim of improving the living conditions of families living in social housing in the Virgen de la Caridad neighborhood. The headquarters of the association is located in this area. Here our volunteer will support the families living there to improve their lives through various actions in the areas of education, employment and community participation both in and outside the neighborhood.
Our volunteers will participate in the following activities:
- Support in the process of personal and educational development of minors and teenagers at risk of social exclusion.
- Design and creation of leisure activities for the enjoyment of children, teenagers and their families.
- Support in the training and improvement of work skills of adults.
- Support in workshops with families at risk of social exclusion.
- Cultural mediation with minorities
- To propose and participate in neighborhood beautification actions.
- Mobilizing participation in collective improvement actions.
In addition, our volunteers will participate in the following activities:
- Promotion of European and mobility projects and programs among the young people of the Region, as well as among the users of our organization.
- Participation in workshops and presentations of the European Solidarity Corps (CES) program in youth organizations, secondary schools in the city and the University.
All the activities developed in the association are linked to the Sustainable Development Goals, which, among other things, brings an added European value to our project.
As far as the learning terms are concerned, they will be in contact with people from other cultures, countries, religions and customs that will make them more tolerant and open-minded. Through these relationships they will understand the reality, the community and the circumstances in which our direct beneficiaries live. In this way, they will discover other realities, creating a new perspective on their own reality, giving more importance to their own lives and finally acting collectively.
Our volunteering project seeks to promote the values promoted by the EU and the CES Program, such as solidarity, equality, justice, respect, fight against exclusion and xenophobia, etc.
Horário: The schedule of volunteer activities will be between 25 and 38 hours per week distributed in the following hours:
- 3 days a week in the morning: 9:00-13:00
- Monday to Thursday afternoons: 16:00-20:00
- Friday afternoons: 16:00-18:00
Condições: Practical arrangements: The schedule of the volunteer activities will be between 25 and 35 hours per week. The volunteer will work max. 38 hours on 5 days per week.
Holidays: According to the rules of ESC, volunteers must have 2 working days off per month.
Accommodation: The volunteers will live in a room in a shared flat located in the city together with other volunteers. The room and the flat will be fully equipped, and electricity, water, gas and internet will be covered by the lead organization (till the amount of 30€ per volunteer).
Pocket money: The volunteer will receive the monthly rate foreseen by the Spanish NA, 186€ per month.
Food: The volunteer will receive 184€ for food every month.
Local transport: Every volunteer will have a chance to choose a bike or bus card provided by the hosting organization if it is needed.
Language support: The volunteer is entitled to receive language support with an online platform, as stated on the ESC programme guide.
Medical insurance: The volunteer will be covered by a private insurance that will cover all the expenses not covered by the public health system (health, accident and civil liability insurance).
Travel costs: The volunteer will receive financial support for travel from his/her country to Spain and from Spain to his/her country once the project is completed, up to a maximum amount established by the European Commission according to the distance band.
Visa and residence permit fees: The volunteer will receive financial support for visa arrangements (if required).
Deposit: The volunteer will have to make a 370€ deposit that will be reimbursed once the project is ended and the volunteer leaves tidy, clean, and with no damage in the private room and common areas, and if the volunteer doesn't leave the project without a justified reason before it ends.
