Tarefas: Living Martinsstift for people with disabilities - Apartment 3 or 7, flexible working hours according to the duty roster and max. two weekends per month, working hours early to afternoon or noon to evening, 25 hours a week Mondays - Sun also on public holidays plus participation in the course on Introduction to Social Services at the Ludwig Schwarz School, (Changes of the assignment times are always possible - flexibility is desired, as well as joy and humor in the company of people)
The role of the volunteers is to bring in an added value of quality of activities and support for marginalized people and they should bring in Europe and their mentality/culture nearer to those people in every activity inside the organisation. The volunteers are involved in talking to clients, companionship, accompanying clients on social and recreational activities and assisting their daily life through socialisation and promotion of intercultural games, music and activities in general, helping them with breakfast, cooking with them typical dishes from their country...
The general practical arrangements (working hours, days off, holidays, food, accommodation, local transport):
They will do about 35h/week, 5 days a week, normally from 07:00-15:00, Monday till Friday with 1 hours off for lunch but it is also foreseen that volunteers will be involved during weekends and in the evening; if the volunteer works on an occasional weekend day, they will have a compensatory weekday off. There is general flexibility guaranteed if volunteers need special days off.
From middle of October till end of June the volunteers will join together with other volunteers the Lehrgang zur Einführung in Soziale Dienste
Although the individual volunteer placements are in different shared communities, they all share accommodation in a house in the middle of Gallneukirchen, Pfarrgasse 1or on Linzerberg 45b. This is an accommodation where other young people are living too who are doing the diconian year. Each volunteer has own room, bed, locker, wardrobe, desk, seats, with a shared lounge, kitchen, laundry room, toilets. The accommodation is secure and separate from the volunteer activity place. During their free time volunteers can come and go at any time of day and night. Additionally they will get money for food and pocket money around € 350 and 1/2x/day meals at the project groups, if she's there. Projects and accommodation is very near, so you have to walk only about 5-15 minutes to reach all. A bicycle is also provided and a Klimaticket OÖ for public transportation.
Volunteers generally attend one German courses in Linz.

Horário: Holidays: Volunteers can’t consume their days just in the end of the service. It has to be taken during their stay and not at the end of their stay. It has to be communicated in time with the coordinating organisation. There is a total of 22 days' holiday.
