Resumo: (environment)
The hosting organization founded in 1947, is the Austrian branch of the global peace and volunteering network. The organisation mainly organizes together with local partners short-term volunteer projects in Austria called workcamps, and promote long and short-term volunteering projects all over the world, most of our participants are young people. We are a grass root organization based on volunteer engagement and most of the team members involved are young volunteers themselves. We believe that living and working together with people of different backgrounds helps volunteers to break down barriers and prejudices. It allows them to experience a world of mutual respect and understanding. In this sense, volunteering can be seen as a way of life, in our worlds as a demonstration of the possible reality of a peaceful and cooperative world.
The organization offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to young people, such as short, mid- and long term projects, but also the possibility to become active for a local branch or participate in seminars, training and thematic workshops focused on active citizenship, raising awareness and criticism concerning unequal and violent social structures. Organization’s vision is a world of peace; social justice and sustainable development, where all people live together with mutual respect and without recourse to any form of violence to solve conflict. Organization’s mission is to promote a culture of peace by organising international volunteering projects with local and global impact. Apart from mission and vision of the organization is being guided in all its activities by our core values. Every voluntary project, meeting, exchange or training has to be in line with these values: Volunteering; Non-Violence; Human Rights; Solidarity; Respect for the Environment; Inclusion; Empowerment; Cooperation.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
Participants should have interest in the topic and be motivated for physical work and outdoor life (warm and weatherproof clothes and working-boots are strongly recommended!).

Tarefas: You will take concrete action to maintain biodiversity in a part of the EGB zone along the border between Austria and Czechia and contribute to preservation of endangered species. We will work together for 5-6 hours a day. We will mow steep meadows and remove bushes from dry rocky grasslands that are threatened to be over grown by bushes and trees.

Condições: During the workcamp we will change two different accommodations. Both accommodations will be very basic. First week we will sleep in tents, whereas second week we will have simple shared group accommodation. In the first week of the camp we will stay during which we will sleep in the tents. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary that you bring the tent with you as well as your own sleeping bag, sleeping mat and a pillow! During the second week we will stay at the campsite
