Resumo: The main goal of Profilantrop is to raise the environmental awareness, strengthen the independence and self-esteem of local communities to find a way to a responsible, sustainable and peaceful lifestyle.
Empowerment is a cornerstone in our work, incorporating the creativity and skills of the people in finding solutions to their problems – instead of waiting for the help from outside.
The Association applies innovative techniques and technologies to fight for social and environmental sustainability using an integrative, interdisciplinary, systemic approach combined with participatory methods. The members of the association have a background in social sciences and research, especially cultural anthropology, which gives good basis to work with communities.
The Association has started a Charity Shop in 2015. This social enterprise serves sustainability in many ways: reduction of waste, providing affordable items for the people with low income, transferring knowledge about reusing and upcycling items, positive changes in attitudes regarding sustainability. The association is also a community place, where donors and customers alike can engage and meet each other. Our future plan is to develop a business model for NGOs and local communities for funding their projects with running charity shops, or other social businesses, helping local communities to reach the SDG-s connected to economy, and powerty.
