Resumo: The coordinating organization is a cultural organization created in 2003 by both experienced youth leaders and young people. The coordinating organization was created with the aim of having a tool to better access the needs of young people living in our local community and territory so to give a concrete contribution to satisfy their requests in terms of participation, active citizenship, feeling of belonging to a common Europe, tolerance and antiracism.

In a more specific way our aim is to get young people closer to European issues, to bring a European dimension in a region far away from decision-making centers and peripheral in terms of geographical and economic position.

The coordinating organization has a team of 5 youth workers, stable local volunteers and University trainees working on daily basis with a large public especially composed of young people aged between 13 and 30 years old. We provide help and training to young people – inside and outside the organization - who want to implement new projects fostering their participation through the organization of international exchanges, intercultural learning activities, information campaigns and workshops about various topics.

The coordinating organization realizes all year long on local level activities and workshops for primary and high schools aiming for the promotion of non-formal education and linguistic competences of the pupils, so as weekly cultural activities in our centers. All our activities are based non formal education and are connected to volunteers, local and international.

Perfil: We search for 18-30 years old volunteers with flexibility and interest in the topic.

Tarefas: The project involves practical activities for the construction of a classroom, for reading and socializing in the outdoor area of Agorateca, the Community Library. Agorateca is a space for culture and gathering active since 2019 and located within a school, managed by the association.
The construction of the Knowledge Garden is part of the project, whose main purpose is to combat educational poverty. The construction site activities will be coordinated by experienced architects and will involve the community in a process of participatory design and selfconstruction, using recovered materials as much as possible.

Condições: Volunteers will be lodged in a large apartment close to the city center.
Participants will receive food money and pocket money (6 euros per day). Money will be transferred on participants bank accounts. Altamura is reachable by plane, train and bus.
The association will support participants in finding the best itinerary based on their exigences. All travel expenses are covered by the European budget. More detailed information are retrievable in the Infopack.
