Resumo: TOWN:
The project will take place in San Fernando, in tha Cadiz Bay Natrual Park, Andalusia, with about 100,000 inhabitants.

GEOGRAPHIC ENVIRONMENT:
San Fernando y located in the Natural Park "Bahía de Cadiz", surrounded by saltmines, marches and sea. It borders at the South with the Atlantic Ocean. It has a 6 km. long beach; the "Punta del Boquerón" is declared "Natural Monument of Andalusia". This is a virgin beach, with no constructions nearby and protected from urban speculation. The island of Santi Petri, or of Hercules, has a castle. A legend says that the temple of Hercules was in the island.
At the East it borders with the sea flow of Santi Petri, which used to form part of the Delta of the River Guadalete. This flow separates the city of San Fernando from the Iberian Peninsule, that's why the city is also known as "La Isla" (The Island).

SOCIOECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT:
Salt mining, naval industry and the military used to be the main economic resources.
The salt mines suffered a crisis with the new technologies substituting salt.
Naval industry has suffered a decrease for several decades. There is one company dedicated mainly to war ship construction. The current search of new construction elements and the permanent changes have meant a decrease in the employment possibilities of the population. Nevertheless, this is still one of the main companies of the city and the region, though it had to join other shipyards in the area.
Military life has also been important. San Fernando has always depended on the military service; the population has always been related to it.
Currently, 2 industrial areas are being built which are meant to promote local industry. Water cultures and rural, environmental tourism are being promoted as new values, as they may be a source of employment.

Condições: We are open to host volunteers with fewer opportunities related to social, economic, geographical or health problems who can carry out the existing programmes. Especially, we can host young people with conduct problems, such as hyper-activity or lack of resources.
Many people in the organisation have such problems. Thus, our educators are used and qualified to work with them. Some of our educators are in one of those situations and can carry out their tasks perfectly.
It could be encouraging for our local people to see that other people with their similar problems can carry out an EVS.
These volunteers would have a mentor who has worked for a long time with people with such barriers.
We also count with the support of the municipal social services to carry out monitoring.

Our tasks do not include risks.
When they go out of town, they will do it in twos, at least, and with the needed means to ensure their localisations (walkie-talkies, mobile phone,...). They shall tell the organisation about the itinerary they will be following and, if necessary, tell the competent authorities about it.
The risks will be continuously under evaluation. We will use all resources to eliminate any risk (1st Aid kit,...). Personal protection gadgets are obligatory (lifejacket for canooing, reflecting clothes,...)
Volunteers will also be covered by our insurance.
In the case of hosting minors, volunteers will count with additional monitoring and supervising, as well as security and protection.

CONDITIONS AND RULES FOR VOLUNTEERS:
Volunteers will share a flat in our city. We will look for flats near the working place.
The rules are those which enable a correct co-existence. Volunteers will agree on the different matters, though resting and the correct use of infrastructures will be a priority.
At the end of the service, the flat will be left in a similar condition as it was found.

Formação: We will provide language training; volunteers will have a teacher.
We will also provide previous training, depending on the programme they participate in, where they will receive all needed information. They will be supported by the organisation at all moments and receive specific training from it.
