Resumo: The hosting organization was initiated by parents for their children. 8 teachers are responsible for education of 85 children. The school works according to reform-pedagogical principles (Montessori, Piaget), so the work is oriented at the needs and wishes of children. Learning methods are based on practical work and projects: «Learning by doing» means that we prepare a surrounding which enables children to make their own experiences, acquire cultural techniques and develop social competences. Also, they handle rules and borders in a democratic way. It is part of our philosophy to practice an intercultural exchange.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We look for a person, who is responsible and motivated to help students, as well as assisting teachers. Ideal candidates should be open-minded, active, and initiative-taking, capable of interacting with children of different ages and social backgrounds. An interest in alternative pedagogy and specific skills in arts, music, handicrafts, or sports are also desirable.

Tarefas: The volunteers assist teacher during lessons and in the afternoon care. They enrich the school environment and are able to develop their own projects.

Condições: The volunteers will live in an apartment and have their own rooms. We will provide a ticket for the use of public transport. The volunteers will receive breakfast and a snack at school from Monday to Friday, and lunch from Monday to Thursday. Additionally, the volunteers will receive a monthly allowance for food. Pocket money is 7Eur/day.
