Resumo: The Youth Services: youth services aims to provide activities for young people by customer orientated manner, including the youth already in planning process.
Our pedagogical emphasis is based on educational, social empowering and meeting the individual needs of each young in all our stages in all our activities. Youth policy in youth services includes improving and empowering young people seizing the potential points of influencing and improving their living conditions and bringing out in the open the interests and issues of young people.
The youth services offers a variety of activities for children and young people in three youth spaces, in mobile activities, various small group activities (including game groups and primary school activities) and youth work in schools.
In addition, camps, excursions and more are organized during the holidays activities. Youth services activities’ primary target group is children in the age of 10-17 years. Youth services do operate in multidisciplinary cooperation networks, both within the city and with other actors (e.g. Library services, the Youth workshop, parish, local organizations). provided and developed in the youth center. The Youth Services employs c. 27 individuals.

Perfil: We look for volunteers over 20 years old, outgoing, initiative and capable to work with children and youth. Ability to process own views of the activities, and capability to plan and carry out/implement activities for children and young people aged mainly between 13-17 years is essential.
Due to the housing arrangements, it is important that the volunteers are capable of living together with a person coming possibly from a different cultural background. Adequate English skills and accredited sending organisation are required.

Tarefas: The project provides both the volunteers as well as children and youth of the organization an opportunity to internationalise and gain a learning experience from cultural interaction. The volunteers will take part in the various activities of the Youth Services and the City Library.
Volunteers will work with children and youth (mainly 9-25 years old). Volunteers participate in the youth house evenings, detached youth work, and other activities the youth services and city library provide. The youth services also encourage volunteers to co-operate with other municipal actors and local NGOs, depending on their personal interests. All activities will be carried out together with the youth workers/library workers, regarding the professional skills and interests of the volunteer.
During holidays (autumn, winter and summer holiday) various events involving the volunteers will be organised. A lot of activities will be done in the evenings and some in the weekends. Duration full year.

Condições: Volunteers will be accommodated in an apartment provided by the City. Apartment is located close to the city centre. Both volunteers will stay in the same apartment, which consists of two individual bedrooms, two shared bathrooms, shared kitchen and living room and a small backyard.
Volunteers will be given bicycles which is a useful way of getting around the city.
Meals are mainly provided at the High School.
Volunteers are also provided travel cards to get around within the capital region.
