Resumo: A group EVS Project; 4 volunteers from Europe and neighbor countries, will be staying for 12 months in Lithuania
Perfil: The profile of the volunteer candidates that we will host, should fit these criteria:
• Young people aged between 18 and 30, legally resident in promoters’ countries.
• The young volunteers will need to demonstrate a certain interest in project topics and motivation fully and actively to participate into activities of this project.
• Preferably, that volunteer have good communication skills (useful to keep contacts with the different stakeholders of the project) or a motivation to improve it.
• Good spirit of initiative to contribute creatively to the improvement of the programme in which the volunteer will be involved.
• The volunteer should also demonstrate willingness to learn and interest to work in a social contest potentially different from her/his own.
• Very important the motivation and enthusiasm of the volunteer to work on art and culture activities and on promotion of intercultural dialogue.
• To collaborate with hosting organization members and with local youth.
• It would be very appreciate if volunteer would know about their own cultures, in order to help in running activities on intercultural dialogue.
Tarefas: The project’s activity is design in a way that variety and balance tasks will be given for volunteer. All volunteers will work in the same activities, but some tasks will be implemented individually, some will be for working together, as well as taking parts in different projects’ team work. Mainly volunteer’s role and tasks can be divided in these actions: • To prepare and organize cultural courses for local young people interested in cultural dialogue and in specific cultures of volunteers. Courses will be based on promoting volunteers cultures, traditions, languages, specific arts’ fields – intercultural learning with a help of non-formal and informal educations’ methods and methodologies. The main idea of these courses is to introduce local young people with other cultures and to make them be more open-minded and tolerant to other cultures, as well as to improve some of their competencies as well. • Helping in organizing different international and national projects for the team of the Organization.
Volunteers will be involved in project organizing team for helping and working on different stages. • Improving online version of “a guide to intercultural dialogue for volunteers” that was prepared by other volunteers in our organization, in order to update information and to add different and new experience from other volunteers point of view. • Meeting Lithuanians who want to go for EVS projects; sharing experience and giving advises/information together with EVS projects coordinator in our organization. • Creating a table game on Intercultural dialogue that will promote tolerance and will increase interest of different cultures (especially the once that volunteers will represent). It will be a final volunteers work all together and will be develop during all activities they will do.
Formação:
The volunteers will develop personal competences living and working in new environment as well as contribute to local community working on the activities that will foster intercultural learning and dialogue. Important part of the volunteers’ activities is courses of cultures for local youth in order to promote cultural diversity and tolerance (understanding) to different cultures.
During the service volunteers will have several trainings/meetings. On-arrival and mid-term trainings organized by Lithuanian National agency. HO will ensure that volunteers will participate in these trainings.
There will be a lot of freedom for the volunteer to initiate and realize their own activities. There will be devoted time for their preparation and support for the ideas.
