Resumo: This organization is a non-profit organization that runs a centre offering services to all volunteers and associations involved in voluntary service. It is constituted by 130 voluntary organizations and it supports, promotes and qualifies voluntary work. Based on solidarity and mutual understanding, it fights against racism and marginalization. It aims at strengthening and spreading the culture of solidarity. The Centre offers all voluntary organizations several services for free: the staff provides the volunteers with professional advice about planning and implementing new projects, it organizes as well training courses on various subjects, and gives information about local and national voluntary activities. Has in its office 12 employees and several partners (both freelancers and organizations).
CSV cooperates with voluntary associations that are active in Biella and its province, they all together implement projects whose themes are seen as priorities in the local voluntary field. CSV supports in particular those associations that have not acquired enough autonomy, yet.

Perfil: We are not interested in identifying a special profile of volunteer we'd like to send abroad: it is important for us only to offer the opportunity to be involved in EVS to our local youngster. The only criterion we're going to follow is a territorial one: we're interested in recruit people living here, to follow them step by step during the whole project, starting with the support in writing the motivational letter and their cv, during their EVS abroad, when they'll come back in Italy, to re-elaborate the experience and to help them to disseminate their experience.

The project is open to all young people; special skills or competences are not required. Anyway we think it is important that the volunteer is a very motivated, flexible, open minded and patient person wishing to work in such a complex context, in touch with a really heterogeneous target. A good motivation to learn the Italian language is also essential for the project.

Tarefas: CSV is activating a process called "progettazione e rete" (planning and networking) that starts from the identification of the needs of the local community and its citizens, goes through the sharing of the main lines of argument and actions together with the interested actors (local government, bank foundations, private companies, schools, non profit sector…), an ends with concrete projects. In the same time, to stay in contact with the local community and the local organisations, CSV create round tables and networks to plan new projects and organize activities connected to the local needs. These projects are seen as innovative for a specific community and they are encouraging net working and long-term results. The EVS volunteers will follow out the whole process together with the CSV workers, taking care of those parts of the process they feel most comfortable with. CSV also has an important communication activity, with the aim to promote and disseminate activities and events on the local community.
The communication office take care about:
-CSV's web site (uploading documents, videos, news...),
-CSV'a accounts on Facebook, Youtube, Vimeo, Flickrt and in all the most popular social network
-It inform local media (radio, television...) about news and events The communication office also present a press review from local newspapers, and daily collect local news.

The volunteers will be helped to share their opinions about the activities they will be involved in, and to suggest new ideas to improve or renew them.

In the CSV office the volunteers will have their training sessions and evaluation meetings, a desk and a computer will be at their disposal to carry out their tasks (phone calls, internet researches, documentation). The volunteers will ideally participate to a 12 months project, but CSV is ready to offer a volunteer a voluntary service that lasts from 6 to 12 months, depending on the needs of all partners involved (volunteer, sending and hosting organization).
