Resumo: The hosting organization is a non-profit organization founded in 2017.
We operate in sectors of high social relevance, thanks to European planning and the development of innovative and often self-financed non-formal education paths. We believe it is important to commit our time and energy to the local community, in order to develop it, but at the same time improve the European citizenship. To achieve our objective, it is necessary to create a team of local level partners (associations, schools, universities, municipality of Messina) and an international level (associations, communities, universities), in order to accumulate experience by organizing and participating in numerous and different groups projects, events and individual training, also through the Erasmus+ programme.
The organization provides at its base a series of services based on non-formal and NEET-oriented education, all students, young workers in the field of humanistic discipline, social enterprise and volunteering and a young person experienced in an advantageous situation ( deficiency, poverty, social exclusion, migration, family problems and crime). We organize individual group and information workshops to develop basic and transversal, linguistic and digital skills, without inclusion and social aggregation.

Our objectives are:
- Development of creative potential and basic and transversal competence every day;
- Create conditions for the active development of young people in the social, economic and cultural life of society;
- Start a youth initiative in various settings;
- Develop international international cooperation, collaborating with foreign organisations;
- Cooperate for the social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities;
- Value cultural diversity;
- Melhorar ativa cidade local e europeaa;
- Increase European sentiment among young people.

Perfil: The 2 volunteers are youngsters in the age range of 19 to 26 years old, who are classified as NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training). Through a selective process, we aim to identify individuals with the motivation and commitment to participate in this program.
Their selection will be based on their readiness to embrace opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and community engagement. The selection process will also consider their ability to collaborate effectively, adapt to new challenges, and demonstrate a strong desire to make a meaningful impact, ensuring that the chosen volunteers are well-prepared to thrive in this transformative project. The selection process seeks to identify candidates whose energy, creativity, and determination align with the mission of effecting positive change in our communities.

Tarefas: The activities for the volunteers are equally divided into training and volunteering, they follow a learning by doing approach in the frame of non formal education. The aim of the activities is for the volunteers to learn new languages; to gain experience in the field of youth work; to experiment different fields in order to understand better what they want to do in the future. Our goal is to offer a period of reflection, where the volunteers can plan their future life according to their true interests. We wish to offer to the volunteers a full immersion in the life of our country and town in order for them to develop personally and professionally, to boost their self-confidence and sense of initiative, to gain useful and portable skills and knowledge, to increase their awareness of different cultures and, last but not least, to empower them to be more active European citizens.

Horário: Monday: Volunteers will engage in a weekly vlog where they will tell about their experience in progress and invite and support viewers to participate in ESC volunteering projects. On the same day, they will carry on a personal project that will be concerted with the activities coordinator.

Tuesday: Volunteers will lead creative painting workshops open to young people aged 14 to 35. These aim to bring people together, to stimulate the creativity of the community and to realise an exhibition during the sixth month.

Wednesday: Volunteers will receive Italian lessons. They will further conduct English lessons using the methods of non-formal education, i.e. debates, role-plays, simulations, theatre, etc. The lessons will be open to young people aged 14 to 35.

Thursday: Volunteers will conduct non-formal educational sessions at the end of free sport activity events: five-a-side football, basketball, table tennis. These will aim to raise participants' awareness on topics such as the environment, communication, the EU and European programmes, conflict management, etc.

Friday: Volunteers will be accompanied in their knowledge of journalism by the experienced staff of LetteraEmme, a local newspaper. They will learn the basics and actively participate in the writing of articles, rubrics and personal reflections.

Saturday and Sunday: Volunteers will be free to discover the beauty of the Sicilian territory and will be offered cultural and social activities for effective integration.

Condições: Volunteers will be housed in a small villa surrounded by greenery just 25 minutes from the centre. They will have a single room and all facilities at their disposal. In addition to a monthly pocket money of 180 euros, volunteers will receive another 150 euros to spend on food shopping. Volunteers will be provided with a monthly public transport pass and the bus stop is right in front of the house. In addition, a car will always be available in case of need, together with
the activities coordinator. Volunteers will also benefit from the support of an external person, the mentor.
