Resumo: Nature Reserves Research Coordinator, in this role you will be responsible for coordinating all the research aspects of the nature reserves constantly liaising with the Land Management team to ensure that all planned research activities are correctly carried out. The chosen applicant will work at our nature reserves (Għadira, Simar, Foresta 2000 and Salina) reporting to the Site Warden and Head of Land Management. An existing research programme is in place and the candidate would be expected to work on the delivery of this programme and its improvement where possible.

Tarefas: Coordinating the existing research programme for the nature reserves
– Collecting all data from this programme and preparing an annual report with results
– Proposing new potential research activities
– Handling the administrative aspect of the research work, including obtaining the necessary permitting from the relevant authorities and then submitting final reports upon completion of studies
– Assisting the team in public engagement activities, especially in terms of disseminating the research activities we carry out
– Looking at historical bird sightings and ringing data for the nature reserves and preparing reports for our in-house publications
– Assisting the managing wardens with works at the nature reserves how and when the need arises
– Expected to also assist with replacing the nature reserves visitor assistants, responsible for engaging the public when the reserves are open to the public, how and when the need arises.
