Resumo: The Social Center is part of Social Centers. The cultural and social center is a neighbourhood facility with a global social vocation, open to the entire population living in the area, offering a
welcome, activites and services with a social purpose.

The social center can also be defined as a center for initiatives carried out by local residents supported by professionals, capable of defining and implementing a social development project for the entire population od a territory.
As part of the non-formal education movement, the social centers base their actions and their public expression on three founding values, whish are enshrined in their federal charter of social centers :
- Human dignity, solidarity and democracy ;
- The social centers as a central axis ;
- The development of the inhabitants' power to act

Perfil: Age: 18-30

- Adaptation, communicative and willing to approach to a different audience ; Desire & readiness to work in rural
area ; Convinced by non-formal education principles and beneficts
- Sense of initiative and willingness to develop one’s project; Good level of French or/and English or motivation to learn French; Motivation to participate in European project and become a facilitator for European projects and values.

Tarefas: This individual volunteering activity will take place within the framework of the European Solidarity Corps. For 10 months, the volunteer will work in the office of the Social and Cultural Center.
He/she will be fully integrated in their team and will have a tutor in the center, helping him/her with assignments and daily life, and a tutor.
Various missions will be entrusted to the volunteer, and more specifically the following ones:
- Promoting European mobility among youngsters followed-up by the social and cultural center as well as students of local middle and high schools. For this purpose, the volunteer will be in charge of bringing them informations about non-formal educational programs, sharing experiences during differents meetings or events, giving his testimony on social medias...

- Contributing to the activities of the social center with children and teenagers during the school period and holidays.

- Assisting youngsters in the preparation and realization of collective projects to enhance thier international mobility and active citizenship (Erasmus + projects, youth exchange, cultural projects...)

- Raising awareness on citizenchip and intercultural topics, presenting her country and trying to fight against stereotypes. The volunteer will contribute in creating pedagogical activities, participating in workshops, organizing debates, etc.;

- Suggesting new activities for youngsters and local population in accordance with their needs and your expactations (for instance : helping children in home assignments, leading cultural and artistic activities, encouraging sport and good health practises...

All these activities will be discussed with the volunteer and can be adapted according to his/her interests. The volunteer will also be encouraged to implement own initiatives and will benefit from qualified support of the team to do that.

Horário: Working conditions: the volunteer will work in the office of Social Center, approx. 35 hours per week. The volunteer is entitled to 20 days of vacations spread out during these 10 months of the project.

Condições: Financial support will be provided to cover expenses for food (9 € per day). Apart from that, the volunteer will receive pocket money (7 € per day).
