Resumo: (Art and Culture)
We support and promote contemporary performing art and music.
We introduce contemporary arts to new audiences.
We educate our audiences through new experiences.
We give artists the possibility to perform what they desire.
We continuously rethink what an artist residence is.

We grow towards community well being.
We look for ways on how to connect and engage artists with communities.
We improve ways on how art and culture can be made through the experience and exchange between an artist and another human being or collective.

We redesign what a concert or festival means.
We look for new forms, shapes and spaces in artistic culture, production, design.
We continue to re-arrange and re-create what we have found and developed.
We learn to fill spaces with inclusive experience.

Perfil: + are 18-30 year old
+ are from countries eligible for ESC
+ english speaking (at least average level)
+ have motivation to learn, initiate, and get involved in the activities of Sansusī (new things, artist residence, local community, contemporary arts festival, other music & arts events)
+ have education, experience or a true interest in the field of arts and culture
+ have local volunteering experience in other organisations is a bonus, but not a must
+ have an interest in social inclusion and civic society
+ are ok with flexible working hours
+ have fewer opportunities due to financial, regional or other aspects of your life

Tarefas: Long-term volunteering asks for commitment and wanting to do, grow, explore.
Not just what are the possabilites. But also who you are as a person, as a human being in this world. It can give you some time for safe space to undestand your own place within this world. It can also give you unexpected
growth in directions you did not even know existed. It can be exciting, peaceful, playful, challanging. Anything you create it to be.


+ Co-organising our events - As we makecouple of events throughout the year - you would be welcome to join in co-organising them. Usually there are several roles and many tasks to be done so lots of options to try, grow and deliver.
+ Being supporting person for artists with whom we work - It can be either in residence center or in connection with
any events or productions in the making. From being a driver or technical support to just being a human being
attentive to another human being.
+ Creating your own events and projects (any performance arts or related to that) - If you want to improve your
ability to produce events, we offer chances for you to do so after you have gotten to know us and our approaches / style. It's an option for you to grow, take more responsibility and continue to have mentor support in things you do.
+ Organising our media library, making publications - We have a lot of media
(mostly video) material from our past events. Watching, cutting, organising, maybe uploading some things online.
Getting inspired and writing articles or creating othe publications related to us or our artists
+ Improving our residential space inside and out - Physical and mental work to
build and think of making our residence centre better, more inclusive and just nicer. It could be painting a wall or building a new storage space. Or it could be planning things upfront to make our festival week better.
+ Delivering workshops or goodwill jobs for local community - We work with three different groups
locally near residence center - youth, elderly and patients from psycho- neurological clinic. You can decide to work with these groups - either create a workshop for them or create connection with them through arts. It is not a one time thing. We look for commitment and care in this exact activity.
+ Creating your own art projects and productions (with possibilities for performances) - We trully look for those who want to create. Either it's performance, theatre, poem, audio piece, sculpture etc. There are many forms.
You can go solo or collaborate with those around you. Explore. Let surroundings bring more to you. Experiment. Find new ways for self and expression. Practice. Share what you create. Depending on your level there are different events, places and times where you might perform

Have an idea, formulate it and share. We are here to support you with practical tips, discuss your topics, give you various tools on how you can engage people and deliver your message. We can simply cheer for you or give feedback. Whatever works for you.

Condições: Pocket Money
You will receive 5 €/day for your personal expenses.

Food
You will receive 6,50-7,50 €/day for your food expenses. We encourage cooking together at least once a day.
Exact amount will depend on what is possible due to food costs in Latvia.

Travel Costs - arrival & departure
Travel costs from and to Susēja will be reimbursed and calculated using the official distance calculator. It
depends on distance and means of travel. We encourage green travel whenever possible. Arrival is planned
no later than end of October. Exact dates will be discussed with each volunteer depending on your situation.
