Resumo: Our school is a project developed by a group of families living in town and surroundings who have created a school with an innovative educational proposal. Our objective is to develop a project of active and respectful education with the child within the official educational system.

We understand education as a respectful accompaniment of development, based on trust in the capacity of each child and respect for their autonomy and initiative to learn and self-realize as a person. We believe that authentic learning is that which is produced through experience and the discovery of the world around us. And we believe that learning should have as its object any subject of interest that allows development in the cognitive, affective, social and / or psychomotor levels.

Our educational proposal is based on:
- Respect for people, the environment and democratic coexistence in the society in which we live.
- Self-regulation or trust in the child as the main responsible for deciding and directing his own learning process.
- Experiential learning.
- Democracy as the best form of coexistence in society, based on the equality of all to act freely to: express ideas, propose initiatives, participate in activities and make decisions.
- Groupings of different ages create a more natural environment similar to that of society, so that children learn to relate and live together with other children of different ages.
- Prepared environment.
- Free play.
- Creativity.
- The role of the companion.
- Secularity and ideological independence.

Perfil: This project is aimed at young people between 18 and 30 years old who have not participated in any European volunteering project (EVS or ESC) before.

Our association will give priority to the selection of young people with fewer opportunities, young people facing geographical obstacles, economic and/or educational difficulties.

The selection of our volunteers will be made on the basis of their attitude and willingness to participate in the project rather than their knowledge and skills.

We will positively value those volunteers who show motivation towards our project, as well as their level of commitment and involvement; we will also value that they have a sense of responsibility since the profile of the users with whom we work is of groups with a strong educational and socio-affective need. Another aspect that will be considered positively (although not exclusively) is the capacity of the volunteers to adapt to new cultures and customs, since their work environment will be a multicultural environment.

We will consider it important for volunteers to have initiative, patience and the ability to distance themselves from interpersonal conflicts in which they may be involved, as well as an interest in the social issues and aspects of our projects.

Other characteristics that we will take into account are maturity, decision-making capacity, as well as the ability to and enthusiasm to participate in the proposed activities, and the degree of commitment to the work to be carried out.

No young person who wants to participate in our volunteer projects will be excluded for any reason (economic difficulties, social, educational, geographical obstacles, cultural differences, ideology, sexual orientation, ethnicity, age, ideology, gender, etc.).

The selection process is based on the motivations and interests of each interested young person, as well as an open and intercultural attitude and commitment to the objectives of our volunteer project. In any case, we will never consider discriminatory factors such as ethnic origin, sex and gender identity, political beliefs, age, etc.

Tarefas: Currently, 100% of the teaching is done outdoors, except for rainy days, low temperatures (10-12 days a year) and windy days. We set up two large shelves with all-terrain wheels, and created two outdoor classrooms.

In the first part of the day, we have joint moments of dialogue and concentration time dealing with the areas of mathematics and reading and writing in a cross-cutting manner with science, geography, language, music, history, etc.

We have two different groups in primary school (6-8 years old on one side, 9-12 years old on the other) and a group of infants. The second part of the day which we call Workshops takes place after our free play where everything is available but no specific activity is organized, we call this time Blank time, and these two groups in primary school are not so not so differentiated, it can happen that children of 6 years old are doing the same activity with children of 12 years old.

The benefits of mixing ages are many and we would need a lot of space and time to expose them all. What we can do is summarize them in the benefit that is produced in social relations, where all interests are in the environment, and helps to find the balance in the needs, which is reflected in the search of wellbeing taking into account the needs of older or younger companions. Also because the younger children like to learn by observing children like to learn by observing the older ones, and the older ones are passionate about passing on their knowledge to the younger ones. On the other hand, at Peñas Blancas the children are a family, and as such this feeling brings the group together so that everyone feels comfortable together.

The activity of the volunteers within our volunteer projects will be the support to the teaching in the structure indicated above. The volunteers will support the members of the teaching team in their daily educational work, providing the learning space for the volunteers to learn the Spanish language by putting it into practice during their volunteer activities, and also giving them the space for certain support activities to be carried out in the volunteers' native language, which will gives a great added value for the children of the school and the teachers who will receive the dialogues in a foreign language. The benefit or added value will be mutual, impregnating us with several of the official languages of the European Union.

The volunteers will have the same schedule as the School teaching staff. They will accompany the teaching team and the children from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Outside the hours when the children attend the school, they will follow the work of organization and structure of the school with the teachers, attending the weekly routine meetings, supporting in the maintenance and organization of spaces and preparing the activities they wish to lead if they feel like, at some point in their volunteer project, to do so and if the volunteers decide to lead any of the activities proposed by the children.

The weekly schedule of the teachers at the school is 36 hours.

Volunteers will also participate in workshops, seminars and activities to raise awareness and promote the European Youth Solidarity Corps program in youth organizations, University, and any space that generates the option the option to raise awareness of the CES program.

Our volunteering project seeks to promote the values promoted by the EU and the ESC Programme, such as solidarity, equality, justice, respect, fight against exclusion and xenophobia, etc.
