Resumo: Our projects are 12 months long and we work in a community for people with social distress and in a community for mother with babies.

The project will take place in San Damiano d’Asti, a town with 8.500 inhabitants amd the 10% of inhabitants are immigrates form Romania.

San Damiano is situated in a hill area, is composed by 16 hamlet with strong dispersion of the inhabitants and is characterized by a deep agricultural vocation (with typical foodfarming productions like wine, fruit, capon).

San Damiano is 15 km far from Asti and Alba (the last one is the main touristical zone of the Langhe) and is 59 km far from Turin.

In San Damiano there is there are also two movie theatre and one theatre, while in the close Asti there are all the services of the city: swimming pool, movie theatres, ice track, pubs, concerts and hospital.

Tarefas: The volunteers will be active in Casa Bosticco and Cascina Valentino. The first one is a community for people with social discomfort situations.EVS volunteers will support the guests of the house in their daily life (management of the house, cooking, trip) and in the activities of the social agriculture (animal care, green areas and vegetable plot management). The organic vegetable garden of the farm covers all the needs of the guests and gives to the volunteers a great opportunity to learn how to be self-sufficient.

In “Cascina Valentino” there are a community for mothers with children and a day nursery, opened also to the children living outside the community.

Activities in “Cascina Valentino” will include plays and labs with the nursery children (from 3 months old to 3 years old), participation in the community daily life (trip, management of the house...), collaboration in the agricultural job (vegetable plot, animal care, management of the green areas....)
