Resumo: The hosting organization is an NGO, based in Romania, founded in 2012 on the initiative of some specialists in the field of education, art, history, social assistance.
The mission of the organization is to promote volunteering and civic consciousness by developing activities that contribute to increased public awareness of the contribution of volunteers to the local community and to the society in general.
The organization performs the following duties:
- develops activities based on non-formal education aiming to enhance social functioning, integration and cooperation among young people;
- provides counsel, therapy and specialized assistance in order to prevent social marginalization.
A large part of the activities that we carry out are focused around supporting the disadvantaged children and their families to have access to education and involving young people, in particular, and community members in volunteering actions.
The objectives of the Organization are:
- to offer multidisciplinary services for individuals who are in a critical social difficulty;
- to provide support for people in need who are socially excluded;
- to conduct social research and monitor the phenomenon of social exclusion;
- to plan programs of assistance for individuals who are in social crisis;
- to run social integration programs for children who are socially excluded;
- to train professionals in working with underprivileged people;
- to set up and collaborate with day centres and residential care facilities.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are looking for creative volunteers willing to spend time with children/youngsters. They should show interest in organizing educational activities, socializing and impacting the community; willing to learn Romanian, able to work in a team; responsible, flexible; motivated by this project and able to attend the full duration of the project.
We will also include 10 ESC volunteers with fewer opportunities, facing one of the following obstacles: Social Difficulties, Cultural Differences, Economic Difficulties, Disability, Health Problems, Geographical obstacles.

Tarefas: • Civic participation of children and involvement in the community life they belong to is of great importance for their development as future adults, as well as for the development of the community and society as a whole, which are often affected by passivity and lack of civic involvement and initiative. In this project, we start from the premise that active participation cannot be taught by simply listening to or memorizing norms and rules, but by practicing and getting involved in the community.
• We aim for the project to transform children from spectators into architects of change in their own community. Children and young people, together with ESC volunteers and teachers, become active agents of change through social entrepreneurship and community involvement. They will work as a team, gain confidence in their ability to create change, and develop their 21st-century skills. By being directly involved in the change they want to bring to the community, children, young people, and volunteers will have the opportunity to experience how they can help solve community problems themselves.
