Resumo: (environment)
The hosting organization is one of the most important environmental organizations in Spain. The vision, mission and values of the hosting organization are focused to fulfill our social function, which moves us from 1954 to study and protect the birds and nature. Our interest is the human being and the conservation of the natural world.

The aim of the Project is to enable European young people to participate in the environmental volunteer program of the hosting organization. The natural values of this European natural area are internationally known. In this way, young European volunteers from different countries will participate in activities developed in important natural areas, living together with the local community and working side by side in a local volunteer team. Intercultural issues, the value of cultural diversity, the exchange of experiences, the mutual enrichment, the respect and tolerance will be promoted. The volunteer program is understood as a formative experience to equip young people with skills, knowledge and values.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
A more scientific profile is preferably sought and / or related to the environment (because many of the tasks have a scientific and conservation character). When this need is covered, the horizon opens in looking for people with other varied profiles with or without higher education, in order to have a multidisciplinary team because it refers to the interests and abilities of each volunteer. Also volunteers with good communication skill are welcome to work in our visitor center and to manage the Reserve social networks.

Tarefas: Conservation campaigns and scientific monitoring tasks: Study of autochthon and exotic/invasive species, extraction of invasive species and allochthonous plants, developing of ecology scientific studies through monitoring of bird populations as well as other kind of fauna and flora.
Environmental education, ornithological tourism and public use: Guided tours in the reserve (schools, consumer groups and universities), provide ornithological information to visitors and support at the bird hide; organization of workshops, games and logistics to develop environmental education actions.
Public attention in the Visitor Centre and visitor management: ,attend the visitors; sell our products and give information. Maintenance tasks on houses, visitor center and hide. Organic vegetable garden and traditional rice cultivation and experimentation. Some tasks are developed in aquatic ecosystems so you have to be willing to work outdoors in harsh conditions.

Condições: The volunteer will live in the Home of the Volunteers. The house is a partially renovated old house that meets the basic requirements, with two bathrooms, one toilet, shared kitchen and dining room, all basic accessories, including washing machine, basic furniture, computer office, living room and four shared bedrooms.
WiFi is free both at the house and the visitor Center. T
he volunteers live inside the Reserve, at 50 meters from the hide, surrounded by rice fields and nature and 700m away from the Eucaliptus beach.
