Resumo: (Language Lab Assistant)
The hosting organization is an association working for the integration and social inclusion of migrants and refugees in local host communities by offering non-formal education, technology sports, and leisure activities, and various forms of legal and social assistance. The organization promotes the inclusion and empowerment of migrants and refugees by engaging both host country nationals and third-country nationals in our activities. The orgaization was established in 2016 at the height of the refugee crisis in Europe and today, the organization is active in Greece, and in Spain.

The mission and values of the organization fully align with the general objectives of the ESC, as the long-term goal of our activities is to build a more inclusive and diverse society that promotes equality within the response to challenges posed by the refugee crisis in Europe and specifically in Spain and Greece.

The organization hosts young volunteers for up to twelve months. Participants help deliver activities and classes, organize events and campaigns, and support communications and social media while gaining valuable work experience and building interpersonal skills. Participants should be interested in working in a diverse and intercultural environment and have a desire to work with and for refugees. It is essential that volunteer participants are open-minded, respectful, and adaptable with strong interpersonal skills. The participants should be proactive, motivated, and able to work autonomously.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
➔ English B2 and/or Spanish B2;
➔ Motivation to work in a multicultural environment;
➔ Positive approach to problem solving;
➔ Teaching experience will be considered a plus.

Tarefas: ➔ Responsible for opening and monitoring remote classes in the evenings (8 hours per week);
➔ Support with teacher recruitment;
➔ Organisation and participations in language exchanges (2 times a month);
➔ Spreadsheet updates and management;
➔ Organisation and participation in cultural events;
➔ Correspondence with teachers, students, and other stakeholders;
➔ Team meetings and updates;
➔ Dissemination of information on social media channels;
➔ Support the language lab team in performing administrative tasks;
➔ Take part in the ESC activities (organisation of team building activities, awareness raising in schools, etc.);
➔ Support the rest of the team and participate actively in the organisation’s activities.

Condições: The project is funded by the European Commission through the European Solidarity Corps program. This means that volunteering provides:

✅ Travel costs coverage: Up to the limits established in the Erasmus+ Guide distance calculator from the volunteer’s region of residency to our center, and back.
✅ Free Accommodation: Provided next to our office, in the city center, with other volunteers. The flat is fully equipped (kitchen, bathrooms, washing machine, etc.). Note: be ready to share your bedroom with other volunteers of the same gender.
✅ Monthly allowance: 310 euros per month.
✅ Insurance: Henner
✅ Free Language courses: Online but also in person, according to availability.
