Resumo: (Volunteering Teams in High Priority Areas - Centre for all)
This workcamp takes place in the town of Nymburk and the small village of Jizbice (Central Bohemia region) in cooperation with the local NGO Center for All. Center for All celebrates this year 18 years of organizing free time activities and summer camps for children and youth with and without disabilities. The activities take place in a reconstructed barn with a beautiful garden in Jizbice and at the headquarters of the organization in Nymburk. The workcamp aims to help the Center for All to prepare and run a summer camp for people with or without disabilities. At this workcamp, you will actively contribute to the achievement of UN SDG10 Reduced Inequalities.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are looking for motivated volunteers, who have a sense of empathy and who are patient. Who are good at communicating and that are not afraid of the bareer language. Please bear in mind that some of the volunteers might not be able to speak English. This workcamp is especially suitable for volunteers who are interested in working with disabled people - in particular people with mental health condition (autism).
All the volunteers will be asked to send a medical certificate stating that they are fit to work with children and a sworn declaration of nonexistence of any criminal record. Alcohol consumption and smoking is allowed for 18+ volunteers only under specific conditions and after the agreement with the local partner.
Tarefas: The workcamp aims to bring together Czech and international volunteers, people with or without disabilities, kids, youth or adults - just all! This workcamp is primarily for people with autism to whom you will assist. Volunteers will cooperate with Czech assistants and help their fellow campers with daily tasks such as dressing, eating, personal hygiene and participation in the camp program. During the camp (9.-15.7.2023), volunteers might work longer hours, nevertheless, there will be enough time for rest and trips before and after the camp.
Condições: Accommodation/Food: Before and after the camp you will stay in an international scouts’ centre Tortuga in Nymburk – in rooms on mattresses in your own sleeping bag. There are 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining room and a big garden. You will prepare your own meals as a group. During the camp in Jizbice, you will sleep on mattresses in big tents in the garden. There is a bathroom with 2 toilets and 3 showers at the campsite. You will eat all together in a barn, all meals will be provided by the local partner (Czech cuisine). Please bring a tent (optional), a sleeping bag, a mat and a torch. WiFi is available.
