Resumo: (Culture/youth and children/ creativity)
The organization is a local culture house, for children and young people. Our target groups are children/young people 0-25 years, their families, and students, therefore we work within many different genres. Kulturfabrikken provides and coordinates a wide variety of events and activities. We also organise out-of-house activities in other cities of the Municipality.
As a municipal organisation, we work from already given target agreements. We report all events/activities once a month, describing content, number of participants, target groups and a short evaluation of the event/activity. There are regular follow-ups on whether we have reached our targets; adjustments are made accordingly in relation to activities.
At each event/activity, we ask our guests where they have heard about the event/activity and make short qualitative interviews with selected participants.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
Competence, voluntariness, involvement, trust, respect, broadmindedness, dialogue.
the volunteer will meet another volunteers from another European country - in a house which has already had several volunteers from European countries - and in which a previous volunteer from Latvia is now working.
the hosting organization is a place where the local children and young people can go and participate in events, concerts, workshops or skate or just hang out in the café with their friends. A place to which they can belong, where they can be themselves. Instead of hanging around in the streets and perhaps be tempted by a life on the criminal side - or just sit at home and be bored or lonely.
To have volunteers in the house will benefit the volunteers, the users of the house and the members of staff.
The volunteers contribute to the good atmosphere, with a different view, new ideas and an international outlook, which makes us all, users and staff alike, take a fresh look at how we do things. Having volunteers in the house helps us to open our minds and renew ourselves. We have felt the difference in the periods when they were not here.
Tarefas: Visual arts and creative activities, i.e.:
- Visual arts education for children from 6-13 years in their spare time. At present, 4 classes.
- Visual arts courses for all pre-school children. Approx. 46 courses a year.
- Spontaneous creative activities in the café for daily users.
Concerts: 1-2 adult concerts a month and 12-14 concerts a year for children and their families.
Volunteer Crew: An active and engaged volunteer crew, they develop events, select bands, and take practical part in events/activities.
Food Community: We have previously cooperated with a local organisation under the food community, anchored with the Danish Ministry of Food. Focus on healthy, delicious, and cheap food, with food waste and a sustainable food system in focus. We have held several food events; we cook and eat together; participants get a free bag of local produce to take home. Healthy and sustainable food is still one of our focus areas.
Skate and Climbing Hall: One of Denmark’s best skate halls, we cooperate with the local skate association about the running of it. We handle the daily administration and admittance to the hall. Bouldering climbing cave and two climbing walls, run by the climbing association.
The Café: The heart of the organization. Here young people hang out, meet friends and deal with all that happens in their lives. It is often here that the volunteers and the young people establish ties. The volunteers go to language school and often get help from the users to do their Danish homework, and the users train their English, as most communication is in English. We are open weekdays 13.00-17.00 and 11.00-15.00 in the holidays.
the organization cooperates with SSP, an organisation with representatives from schools, social services, and the police. In this forum we discuss any worries about a young person, if there is suspicion that the person is about to enter a wrong path.
