Resumo: working with Migrants (IDPs, Refugees, ect)

Aims and objectives of the project:
The aim of the project is to assist DRONI’s team to explore ways for improving access to integration and social rights for young migrants (IDP-internally displaced persons, refugees, ethnic minorities ect) at grassroots levels and increase young migrant’s social inclusion opportunities.
Main Objectives of the project are:
To raise intercultural awareness of young people, especially with migrant backgrounds through arts and creative activities;
To identify concrete examples, at grassroots level, showing how better access to social rights means better social inclusion and integration.
To look for possible solutions, through rights based approach, to improve access to social rights of young refugees and IDPs at local realities.
To identify specific needs of young IDPs and refugees those differ them from youth generally.
To create atmosphere of common understanding between people representing different cultures, their working style and etc;
Developing the volunteer’s active citizenship and creative skills through involvement in educational activities for IDPs and refugees;
Exchange experience and “best practices” with other DRONI’s members and partners, raising awareness of cultural diversity in local communities and Georgia generally
To Provide short meeting on different European topics, such as Migration, human rights, participation of young migrants, intercultural and inter-religious dialogue;


Perfil: English is the working language of the project,a minimum of intermediate level of English is required. The applicant should demonstrate enthusiasm,curiosity, willingness to learn and work in an international team. Willingness to work with the local communities and disadvantaged.

Tarefas: Support organization to implement different educational and inclusive activities for and with young migrants; • Help organization to do office work empowering projects related to young migrants; • Realize activities for local volunteers and students; • Plan and organize photo-exhibition on above mentioned issues; • Organize art exhibitions, such as hand-craft made by disable young people from Tbilisi and its surroundings • Organize outdoor activities for young people from refugee camps (in the camps living Georgian and Ossetian Refugees after Georgian-Russian war in summer 2008), located nearby Tbilisi. The office is run on everyday basis, from 11.00 a.m. to 6 p.m. Working hours of a volunteers are flexible. There can be sometimes a work during weekends (training, seminars) with possible taking days off after. Volunteers will have own space at the office; will be provided with personal computer or laptop and printer. The work in the office is very varied and our aim is to find tasks suitable for nature of the volunteer and not to be overwhelming her/his with too many tasks, too easy tasks or to boring tasks.

Monday:
10-12 Georgian Classes
12-13 break
13-16 Lessons at art-school

Tuesday:
10-15 Photographing in Tbilisi or Refugee Camps
15-17 Working on Photo Editing Wednesday: 10-12 Georgian Classes 13-16 Planning Outdoor Activities

Thursday:
Working on organizing Exhibitions (during all working hours)

Friday:
10-15 Photographing in Tbilisi or Refugee Camp
15-16 Gathering photo-materials

Saturday Day-OFF
Sunday Day-OFF

Formação: Aims of the project (volunteer):
developing the volunteers’ competence (skills, knowledge, attitude) in youth work with IDPs and migrants;
developing volunteer’s communication skills;
raising volunteers awareness on Georgian cultural diversity, Georgian realities IDPs and young people facing nowadays;
fostering the volunteer’s confidence and independence in decision-making through the experience of closely working with migrants;
improving the volunteer’s intercultural sensibility towards migrants; team-working skills;
developing the volunteer’s professional skills of the volunteering in different fields of arts and crafts necessary to conduct educational activities for young migrants;
