Resumo: (youth)
The Youth Center is a budgetary non-formal education institution. Its’ main objective is to help attendees to solve his/ her occurred problems and play an active role in society. Visitors have an opportunity to attend various sport-related events like
arm wrestling, volleyball, basketball, table tennis and much more in the Centre itself.
Besides that, attendees can join local volunteers and cook because the Youth Centre has a kitchen. Also, the Centre has VR glasses, XBOX one console, equipment intended for sports, a pool table, a piano, music, photography equipment. Occasionally, Youth Centre organises discotheques, lectures with outstanding individuals, board games tournaments. Workers organise summer camps where youngsters have an ability to make friends and unforgettable memories. Workers also celebrate traditional holidays: Open Youth Space birthdays, Valentine’s day, Halloween, Easter and National
celebrations like February 16th and March 11th . Open youth centre works from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. every Monday- Friday.
Perfil: The volunteer is not required have special experience and skills in working with young people, but he or she should believe in and enjoy working with and for young people because this is the major type of person they will be working for and with.
Our basic requests to volunteer are:
- aged 18 – 30;
- have a strong decision and motivation to participate in voluntary activity project;
- interested and motivated in working with young people;
- interested in youth issues;
- willing to get involved in communicating with young people;
- patient, responsible, open-minded;
- willing to participate in the social and community life;
- would like to help creating and implementing his/her initiatives, activities for youth;
- interested in different cultures and in intercultural learning;
- willing to share his/her experience and culture;
- willing to learn and actively participate in the service.
Tarefas: Youth leisure time, youth policy, youth self-expression, healthy lifestyle, creativity, culture, communication with/informing the youngsters are the main topics of the project. So, activities for volunteers will be organized according to these topics.
You will learn how to work with the attendees, volunteers and people who work in the Centre. This is a wonderful opportunity to leave your comfort zone and work with unique people, adapt to the environmentand start personal growth. You will have to not only participate in daily activities, give a helping hand to the people around you, ameliorate problem solving skills, reflect your work, improvise under unexpected circumstances but also create and develop your own ideas that later can be implemented.
Horário: Expected working hours: Volunteers will work 6 hours per day, 5 days a week from Monday to Friday, two consecutive days off per week.
Holidays: two days off per month. National Holidays are also free days.
Condições: The volunteers will live together in the apartament.
The volunteer will receive monthly payments for food and
4€ of pocket money per day.
In order to receive the amount, the volunteers together with hosting organizations have to open an account in the same country in which the association does the transfer.
Travel: Trip from your country and come back is covered by the program, maximum budgets depends on the distance between your country and Lithuania.
Local transport: Given the fact that the youth center is located in a small town and there’s no public means of transport, the movement to the place where the activities take place will be on foot.
Health insurance: During the program you will be covered with private insurance for the program Henner.
