Resumo: The Foundation was established in 2004.
Our aim is to integrate persons and groups of people at risk of marginalization and social exclusion. We work with children from disadvantaged families, Roma minority, and people with mental health issues. We've been hosting ESC volunteers in our children's center, Brave Kids project, Polish kindergartens and schools since 2009.
Perfil: - are between 18 and 30 years old
- have not done any European Voluntary Service / European Solidarity Corps project before.
- have a clean criminal record (a relevant document should be sent to us after the recruitment).
we would like to host paprticipants who:
- love working with children
- are creative and imaginative
- are open to accepting other cultures, personalities and different ways of life
- have good organizational skills
- have a positive attitude towards potential challenges of living abroad
- are flexible, friendly and helpful
- are responsible and reliable
- are honest
- are motivated to spend 6 months in poland
- have some experience in scouting/voluntary work baby-sitting
- are not afraid o f working in big groups
- are ready to work with/f r the local community and to promote the project
- are able to do a medical check-up (necessary to work with children)
- are motivated to learn polish
- have a clean criminal record (certificate will be required)
Tarefas: - Working hours are 35 hours per week in host.org. + 5 extra hours per week for planning activities for local events that promote the project and the European Solidarity Corps.
- Support the teacher with managing the group of children in a safe manner.
- Support young children in self-help activities like helping in dressing up, feeding, leading the child by the hand somewhere if needed etc).
- Create a sense of security in children and encourage their independence.
- Support the teacher in managing the group of children outside (in the garden, on school trips).
- Present your country and culture to children and teachers by running
workshops, creating visual aids, dances and other activities.
- Engage in and support events in the hosting organization (e.g. Christmas party, Children's Day, Mother's Day and Dad's Day, etc.).
- Create and support arts and crafts workshops according to interest and skills/ different art techniques, clay, paper-mâché (paper pulp), salt dough etc.
- Create workshops according to the participant’s interests (ecological, dance, art, drawing, playing musical instruments, theatre, etc.).
- Run language activities for children (teach your native language or English) For example, teach children simple phrases, games, songs, poems, counting, and days of the week. This can be a part of an everyday routine not only during special activities.
- Make teaching aids for classes according to the participant's ideas and according to the suggestions of other teachers.
- Help to improve the kindergarten’s aesthetics by making decorations for special occasions and decorating rooms and corridors independently and together with staff.
- Propose and organize activities promoting the project and its results (e.g. keep a wall newspaper about ESC in the kindergarten hall with pictures, news about workshops, write a blog, reports, doing picture documentation).
- Participate in 4 out of 10 events outside the host. org. to promote the project and the European Solidarity Corps (e.g local festivals, picnics).
- Take part in Polish classes throughout the volunteering mobility.
