Resumo: (youth center)
The hosting organization is a volunteer organization based in Greece. It specializes in fields such as art, culture, environmental issues, social inclusion, promoting and supporting human rights, ... Many projects are conducted on both a formal and informal basis and through these educational projects and activities, the organization hopes to motivate young people and encourage them to be more active, be better informed and participate in European programs.
Thanks to the nature of our work, we are able to engage with a diverse group of young people, all of whom have different characteristics and ideals; there is often a challenge when attempting to integrate those from outside Europe, but the benefits outweigh any discrepancies that may occur.
The differences in culture among those who participate make the program unique and offers an eye-opening challenge. Over time, we feel that we have collected many distinctive methods and as a partner organization, we would like to elaborate upon and exchange our methods and practices with other organizations, both those from Europe and further afield.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
Volunteers should have an interest in the topics of the project and be ready to cooperate as a team with other volunteers. Also, we promote multiculturalism and volunteers will deal with youngsters from different backgrounds with our support. The volunteers should be open-minded and we are welcome in this project youngsters from the LGBTIQ community and youngsters with disabilities such as deaf and hard of hearing too. Volunteers should be highly motivated to learn and also to share their knowledge among us, plus we will support initiatives and their personal ideas during the project.

Tarefas: Volunteers will join and participate in activities in our Youth Center such as a variety of workshops. One of our main projects is Bikes In Action where we repair and give free use of bikes. Also, volunteers will participate in activities such as international dinners, and movie and documentary nights. Furthermore in our Youth Center volunteers will debate different European topics, make badges, and street art graffiti, recycle via games, and promotion of ecological footprint, based on methods of non-formal education.
They will have meetings and discussions with youngsters and students from Thessaloniki that is willing to know more about European motilities and present to them with programs such as youth exchanges, training courses, and ESC. The activities will take place in our alternative Youth Center but also out of the office as in the area of universities or seaside road.

Condições: The volunteer will have to share the room with one more volunteer in a shared flat with a common kitchen and bathroom. The flat is full of equipment with all the necessary items to cook, wash, iron, and clean the flat too. The flat is close to the office and to the Youth Center where volunteers will participate in the activities. The cost of the accommodation for the flat will be covered by the organization and also each volunteer will get 150 euros to buy their own food and 150 euros as pocket money per month. The organization will provide a bike to each volunteer for their daily transport.
