The hosting organization is a non-profit, apolitical, and secular non-governmental organisation with member organizations in more than eight European countries. Our status as a European NGO is recognized by the European Commission.

The organization links local, national and international contexts and is committed to stimulating development and change in cultural, educational and economic spheres through the creation and use of innovative tools and methods.The organisation is divided into five departments which work together and manage activities in their specific fields: European Cooperation, International Cooperation, Mobility, Socio-cultural Promotion and Higher education. The head office can be found in the city centre with other offices in India, Nepal and Senegal.

The organization coordinates the Federation which is composed of over 70 organizations throughout the world who share our mission and collaborate with us. The staff is composed of 35 people at the coordinating office, and a staff person for each international seat. The team has an international character being composed not only by Sicilians, but also from the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Serbia, Nepal, India and Senegal.

The organization is therefore considered to be a very concrete and positive example of European values. Moreover, the staff is characterized by a great diversity of profiles, skills and qualifications but united by a deep sharing of ideals that lead our activities.

At the same time, the organization relies on about fifty external experts that collaborate for specific activities in our offices: three in Sicily and three abroad. Equally important is the contribution from the dozens of interns and volunteers engaged in internships at our organization.

Perfil: 18 -30 years old with fewer opportunities - a basic level of English, strong motivation and interest to work in a team with the different target groups (children, migrants, disable adults etc..); motivation in working with minors and young people.

Tarefas: A 2 months European Solidarity Corps project, addressed to young people coming from different countries. The project promotes social inclusion, equal opportunities and solidarity values, by involving young volunteers in the preparation, development and implementation of non-formal educational activities on different topics (such as citizenship, sport, arts, culture, food, young entrepreneurship, human rights etc) for young people (migrants, asylum seekers, refugees, disabled people, NEETs ecc.) implemented by the hosting organization and its local network (associations that provide services for migrants, kids and disabled people). Each volunteer will be involved for 30-35 hours per week (from Monday to Friday). We are looking for a volunteer to start the project from the beginning of May to the end of June 2023.

Condições: The organization will provide accommodation for all the ESC volunteers. They will be hosted in an apartment located in a city center and they will share the room with another volunteer of the same gender. The costs of meals are covered by the organization. Most of the local organisations where the volunteers will implement their activities are located in the city center. In the case of far distances, The organization will cover the costs for public transportation.
