Resumo: (Red Cross)
The Red Cross is an independent division of the Danish Red Cross. We work and engage in the local community in municipality. Currently, we have more than 40 activities in the municipality, where we help people who are experiencing loneliness, homeless people, people without a network and people in need of aid. Also, we provide courses and education and have several second-hand stores in the city. We are in constant development as we strive to provide voluntary help, when the need for it arises.
As an international volunteer with the Red Cross you’ll help and gain experience with planning events – big and small. We are especially looking for volunteers who are interested in promoting sustainability and second-hand shopping through different events such as pop-up stores in and around the one of the largest cities in Denmark. The second-hand pop-up shops are an opportunity for us to promote sustainability, second-hand shopping and the different Red cross activities in the city. Furthermore, our second-hand stores are our primary source of income and help pay for the different humanitarian activities we have.
Therefore, second-hand events/shops will be your primary focus, but it is also possible to get involved with other events and activities while you are here. You’ll find that we are very open to new ideas and that you will be able to impact the projects you work on.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
• Have an interest in events – and how they can help market and promote an organization
• Be able to cooperate – you’ll work closely with Danish volunteers, interns, employees and different companies
• Have an interest in promoting sustainability, second-hand shopping and the Red Cross
• Speak, understand and write English
• Have an understanding of volunteer work and the positive impact it can have on a local community
• Have general IT-knowledge
• Have a driver license and be comfortable driving in a foreign country
Tarefas: • The volunteer will work with their staff and ca. 100 volunteers to discuss and initiate activities for people who want a volunteer job or who need help to get on with their lives.
• The volunteer will also contribute to the planning of activities, projects and running a large volunteer house for our city’s social associations.
• The volunteer’s concrete tasks/projects will depend on their competences and interests. Tasks could be, for example:
o Reception function, where you greet people and associations needing help
o Participation in marketing our programs (PR, distribution of materials, social media, trade fairs)
o Participant or project leader on your own project/activity (for ex. party for volunteers, workshops for associations, international café)
o Function as handyman/woman (for ex. preparation/arrangement of meeting rooms, meeting planning)
Condições: She/he will live in a shared apartment near the center and work together with the current volunteer.
