Resumo: The main idea of activities proposed to volunteers is based on the method of culture animation,that means working with and in local communities and changing them mainly through art activities.

Volunteers are going to work in a rented apartment in one of the districts of Gdansk. The flat is not only supposed to be a living place, but also a working place. One common room is going to be used for creating a space for EVS activities for local citizens.

The idea is to create a space for common meetings and actions. Not only volunteers may have a chance to propose and realize their own ideas but also people of all ages that live in the
neighborhood.

The activities may take place during a day or in the afternoon and will vary on the profile of a volunteer. The volunteers will be given a lot of space for self-initiative. Each week there may be a movie evening, a cooking afternoon (based on a cuisine of a volunteer’s country) or language classes. EVS volunteers may invite other volunteers or local artists.

Volunteers are going to be given all support (administrative, substantial and emotional) depending on their experience, level of self-dependence and ideas for activities.

There will be Polish volunteers or students involved in the work of EVS volunteers. They are going to help them with activities, language barriers and any obstacles that may appear during the
activities with different groups.

Volunteers are also going to be involved in current projects in the organization (one or two days during a week). We would like to give them an opportunity to observe and learn how a non-profit
organization works, how we plan, implement and evaluate different projects.

Tarefas: Proposed activities:

- creating a weekly/monthly plan of the activities (together with some special events)proposed to the local community

- organizing own artistic, educational activities that may me directed to different age groups (e.g. language classes, photo workshops, handcraft, sport activities, drama or theatre
workshops)

- promotion of the events (on websites, in social media)

- establishing cooperation with local institutions and other organizations that host volunteers

- supporting other projects that are going to take place during the stay of volunteers
