Resumo: Our goal is a decrease in spreading of a HIV-infection and prevention of healthy lifestyle in the Samara region. Our objectives are:
- to train technologies of preventive maintenance HIV/ AIDS by peer-to-peer education (training equal-equal) 10 new young persons in Samara region during the period since 2010 for 2015 and to increase thereby quantity of the certificated trainers with 4 to 14, using peer-to-peer education technologies;
- to raise awareness in the field of HIV/ AIDS 12000 new young people in Samara region by 2015, using theatrical and peer-to-peer education technologies;
- to provide change of the relation to problems HIV/ AIDS of local community in Samara region by 2015, using campaigns of lawyers;
- to engage local administration and mass-media in the youth policy and a policy on HIV/ AIDS by 2015, using campaigns of lawyers.

The target is the population between ages 13 and 30 in the Samara region. This age group has the fastest growing HIV-infection rate and this region specifically has a high prevalence and incidence rate for HIV-infections. Our program uses evidence-based methodology for primary prevention for HIV/AIDS and socially significant problems. The activities of the organization are focused on:
- formatting and training volunteers with information about HIV/AIDS and drug prevention;
- teaching volunteers the peer education technology and/or basic acting techniques;
- rehearsing and performing plays in local educational institutions;
- creating new events and ideas to promote HIV/AIDS awareness;
- mobilizing volunteers throughout the community to spread the message about HIV/AIDS;
- participating in conferences and meetings to improve the efficiency of the Theatre.

Perfil: We would like to host volunteers of age between 18-30 with good English language skills. Taking into account the motivation letter and CV, and the interest shown by the candidate for the specific theme of the project. First selection is made on the base of CV and motivation letter, second selection is based on skype interview. The final decision will be made by the team of our organization which consist of full-time workers. We would like to receive motivated in social actions and art work young people who are not indifferent to HIV/AIDS problems in local community. The volunteer should have an interest in working with youth relevant topics. The volunteers should have at least an upper-intermediate level of English language and have a good communicational skills. We are waiting for a responsible and well organized person with a good working in the team skills , who is ready to help us in all facing difficulties.

We are looking for social-art theatres or risk behaviour prevention organization as our possible partners for cooperation or a possible sending organization. The preference will be given to the volunteers who already have an experience in social art or HIV/AIDS prevention activities. We would like to receive volunteers with the past working experience in prevention HIV/AIDS projects or art-social project experience.

Tarefas: In the beginning our trainings will be mostly based on cultural orientation and proposed activities and in the end we’ll take more attention for an overall experience. All volunteers will receive a YouthPass certificate on the official "ByeBye" letters. The volunteers are expected to:
- receive trainings about current HIV/AIDS data and didactic skills
- deliver presentations in local educational institutions about basic HIV/AIDS information and promoting safe behaviours
- cooperate with other (international) youth organizations with similar goals and missions by realizing partnership projects, exchanges of volunteers, youth exchanges,
- give "Basic English" education to volunteers of organization
- to initiate projects of theatre (all volunteers depends on the free time they have)
- to create a social project for demonstrating it in front of population of Samara city (2-3 people for an activity)

Horário: Possible weekly schedule
*Note: Volunteers' schedules are not fixed and will depend on activities of the Theatre. Volunteers must work 5 days a week during various hours (e.g. it is possible to have activities on the weekend).
Monday (10.00 – 12.00: meeting with the volunteers and the coordinator; 14.00 – 16.00: HIV-training for peers; 16.00 – 18.00: theatre rehearsal)
Tuesday (10.00 – 12.00: creating prevention project; 14.00 – 16.00: HIV-training for peers; 17.00 – 19.00: Russian language course)
Wednesday (10.00 – 14.00: Performance/training in school/institute; 16.00 – 18.00: creating prevention project)
Thursday (10.00 – 12.00: HIV-training for peers; 14.00 – 16.00: Russian language course; 16.00 – 18.00: theatre rehearsal)
Friday - free
Saturday (10.00 – 17.00: trip and performance with the theatre to the city Togliatti)
Sunday - free

Condições: In our organization, all contact persons work together. These entities are the coordinator of the project, the mentor, the international coordinator of Theatre, the home organizations, personal contact person at home of the volunteer. Our mentors will take a highly attention and support for the volunteers. Our organization is going to provide for upcoming volunteers an emergency contact number 24/7. In any additional cases sell phone number of the staff workers will be given. Every week meetings will be held with volunteers in order to make their lifestyle here more comfortable and to be informed about all unpredictable occasions. Measures that will be taken:
- it is recommended that the volunteer has a routine physical check-up and is updated with the recommended immunizations/boosters. In case volunteer will stay more than 3 months in Russia, according to Russian law the person is required to take an HIV-test.
- the volunteer will be informed and introduced to the Russian and Samara lifestyle, the city, culture, history, language, politics and general national and local issues to foster the integration of the volunteer in the local community. The volunteer will participate in intensive trainings about safety, health, emergencies, emergence plan explanations and rights as a volunteer and a young worker in our organization.
- for the faster integration of a volunteer in a local community there will be a team-building events and fun meetings.
- we are ready to support a volunteer with all additional equipment like: maps of the city, local transportation schedule and an emergency plans for unpredictable occasions.

Our organization can guarantee for young people with fewer opportunities effective access to formal and non-formal education, and participation in all spheres of life in our city. We a have a formal an non-formal trainings and activities for all upcoming volunteers with fewer opportunities. For volunteers with social obstacles we can guarantee highly attention from their mentors with all additional help for social integration. We can find host families for volunteers with social obstacles. For volunteers with educational difficulties we will have a 24 hours 7 days a week help from their mentors or staff of our organization. We could also give an additional trainings or seminars with such volunteers. We guarantee an all time mentor support for volunteers with geographical obstacles. Such materials as maps or city descriptions will be given, there also will be the schedule of staff who will accompany international volunteers for events and help them with orientation around the city. An amount of money for an everyday expenses will be given to all volunteers including volunteers with economical obstacles. Our organization have an access for a lot of free opportunities, like entertainment events or life necessities.

We already had an experience of hosting international volunteers which helps us to understand better their necessities and to understand their current need. Our mentors will have a selection processes and additional trainings for better understanding volunteers with cultural differences. We are able to host all volunteers with health problems or disabilities, except probably people with serious problems (like volunteers on wheel-chairs, the majority of buildings in our city are not equipped with wheel-chairs ramps). We guarantee a medical insurance and support if necessary. We have an amount of volunteers with health problems in our organization that helps us to understand better the necessities of people with health problems. Our mentors will take a highly attention to participants with special needs.


The Theatre is able to host up to 2 EVS volunteers at the same time. The organization is able to work with volunteers with fewer opportunities such as social, geographical and economic obstacles, educational difficulties, cultural differences, disabilities and health problems. The organisation is not able to work with short-term EVS groups.

Formação: During the project the volunteer will receive course of trainings about: Russian culture, Russian language, HIV/AIDS prevention trainings and arrival orientation. We are ready to provide not obligatory courses of Russian language with all materials (like books, pens, notebooks) provided. The volunteer will learn about Russian education, health, methods and will be confronted with intercultural dialogues and didactics. Because the volunteer will give trainings in local institutes and schools, s/he will experience communication with the local students and teenagers, the knowledge they have, their attitudes and prejudices. Because the international volunteer is a member of the theatre team, s/he will automatically cooperate with Russian volunteers from different ages and backgrounds. There will be plenty of opportunities for the volunteer to interact with Russian volunteers (on and off-project site). We have an amount of volunteers and staff who have an experience of living abroad. That will help our team to organize preparatory trainings for our volunteers who would like to become mentors. We would also have an every week meeting with all mentors and volunteers in order to share an experience and discuss different issues Our organization can offer all types of formal and non-formal learning for our volunteers in a friendly environment of cooperation. We educate our volunteers in the professional trainings about HIV/AIDS prevention, we also have a 5-day training about the life standards and possible cultural shocks.
