Resumo: The organization is an NGO and a youth center that runs leisure activities for young people aged 10-20 years old. The organization was founded in 1992 on the initiative of young people in the area. We work a lot with youth participation and youth influence. We coach young people to plan, organize and implement their own activities in the youth center in order for the youth to learn things that may be important for them in their future lives.

We want the young people to understand and discover their strengths and to develop their own skills and potential.
The youth centre is situated in the suburb close to the centre. It is a suburban area of people with many different cultural backgrounds. From the organization to the centre takes around 30-40 minutes with bus and tram.
At the organization there is 2 staff on full-time and 4 staff on part-time. The organization is open 7 evenings per week, Monday through Saturday.

On Mondays we have staff meetings where the volunteers take part as active members of the staff team. The volunteers work 3-4 evenings a week and around 35 h /week including Swedish lessons. Volunteers also have daytime shifts working on youth pass, blog and as well helping out with weekly cleaning of the youth center.

Perfil: Volunteer profile: Volunteers should be 21-30 years old. We welcome volunteers with fewer opportunities, from all religions and sexual orientation.

Who are we looking for?
-You are social and open minded and you enjoy socializing with young people!
-You are not afraid to make contact with new people.
-You have a positive attitude and willingness to learn and try new things.
-You take own initiatives and perhaps even have ideas that will help us improve the activities and the
youth center as a whole.

To be a volunteer in the organization means that you will be a natural part of the team and will have the role as a youth leader. The schedule requires both day and evening shifts.

Tarefas: At the youth centre the volunteers will be working to engage and inspire young people take part in and to create own activities. The volunteer will initiate his/her own project according to his/her own abilities and preferences and develop this together with and for the young people in the youth center. It may be sports, cultural, crafts activities or other that the volunteer want to run.

Volunteers will also be working in the daily activities at the youth centre such as card games, pingpong, basket, baking, handicrafts etc.

Volunteers will also work to disseminate information on European opportunities for young people and young adults. The volunteers will also support the work of sending young volunteers from the area abroad. The volunteers will also have the task of conducting outreach activities in nearby the school and the neighbourhood.

Condições: Accommodation: A shared apartment within 5 minutes walking distance from the youth centre. The 2 room apartment is shared and volunteers need to manage this well.

Financials: Volunteers get a monthly payment around 330€ per month (including pocket money) that cover food and leisure activities. Accommodation, local transport, international travel, visa is covered by the European solidarity corps programme.

Placements: 2 volunteers will be hosted simultaneously at the youth centre.
