Resumo: The volunteers will be engaged in a project which includes as main activities both information and non formal education activities addressed to young people between 15 and 30 years old and support and cultural promotion activities addressed to immigrants and refugees living in the city of Catania.

Perfil: Interest for the main aspects of the project, such as immigration and active citizenship.We're looking for volunteers who are ready to be challenged from an environment of volunteers and activists who strongly believe in the values such antiracism, intercultural dialogue and active participation. Previous experience in NGOs field is and added value.

Tarefas: Immigration and cultural diversity will be the 2 main focus of the project. We will offer to the volunteers the possibility of acquiring knowledge about European youth mobility programs and opportunities for active citizenship on one hand on the other hand they could acquire skills about animation techniques and working with culture diversity and minority groups. It will thus include the following activities:
-Information/ non formal education activities addressed to young people
- Intercultural theatre workshop
- Legality and active citizenship workshops
- Training events for youth workers and youth leaders
- Italian language workshops and basic informatics workshops - legal support and discrimination monitoring activities
- Social and work placement guidance and information
- Radio Web

Condições: The association have a 10 years experience in working with social esclusion at local level trough different initiatives and projects. We've gained skills in supporting trough different tools young people with learning difficulties and relational problems or coming from social or cultural disadvantaged background but also other marginal target group like homeless, long term unemployed, immigrants . For this reason the general organisation policy is inclusive and proper professional support with our human resources could be offered to evs volunteers with similar background which may be involved in the project. Unfortunately the organisation don't have a structure and professional resources suitable for volunteers with mobility problems.

A specific risk assestment session will be runned within preparation activities by the sending organisation in a continuos coordination with the sending organisation. Volunteers and mentor of the sending organisation will work on a list of specific risks (risks of failure in reaching the learning objectives, in the integration in the community and into the organisations but also risks to the health / safety of volunteer in running project actitivities) the project could incur in and develop a plan to prevent these risks, training also to agree on which kind of actions will be expected in case of crisis.
All this work will be sent to the hosting organisation which will give feedback about the main risks underlined and the possible way of manage a crisis. Before the departure of the volunteer an agreement on the actions to undertake in case of crisis should be reached between sending and hosting organisation. This agremment will be the base for manage crisis which could incur during the project .
Specific training session on crisis management and prevention will be runned both in pre-departure and on-arrival training the volunteers are going to take part in.

Formação: Thanks to the daily experience of Evs we have the possibility to have a practical implementation of understanding and dialogue with different cultures. In these years Evs also contribute to increase the ability of the organisation to welcome and host new members from different cultures and the ability in human resources analisys and management.
