Resumo: (youth)
Youth Center is a community space and youth node in the town that functions as a meeting place for young people and increasingly for the whole community. The story of Youth Center dates back in 2008, when the need for a common youth space was articulated. After years of negotiations with the local authorities, 300 m2 of an old monastery came into use by local young people and youth organizations in 2012. Youth center was thus formed as an umbrella organization by 3 local NGO. Young volunteers renovated the spaces and furnished it with second-hand and DIY furniture, donated by inhabitants and businesses. In 2015, additional 40 m2 were acquired to host youth-led makers’ and hackers’ space. In 2018, we took over another part of the building with the youth hostel, making it easier to host international activities in the town. There is 9 people employed by the youth center and the youth hostel currently, 4 of which work specifically in the program activities of the youth center.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are looking for 1 outgoing, communicative, open-minded volunteer, who would like to work with youth, learn about different cultures, who are eager to implement their own ideas, organize events, learn about the work in the youth hostel and share knowledge/experience with others (youth, guests…).

Tarefas: The project focuses on the youth center's community activities, sociable activities for locals and international visitors, connecting with local organizations and informing youngsters about possibilities for volunteering home and abroad. The volunteering mission often includes organizing, promoting and implementing activities that are close to your interests, so you'll also be able to get your ideas into practive. There will also be opportunities to be in direct contact with young people through the implementation of our community activities.

Condições: the volunteers will live together in an apartment. There will be no need for a ticket for the public transport, because the town is very small and it's easy to come from the apartment to the youth center walking. As far as the food is concerned, the volunteers will receive 194 € per month to arrange their food. There will also be pocket money (4€/day) for them. The transportation costs will be reimbursed to up to 180 €, 275 € or 360 € - depending on which country you come from.
