Resumo: SPEAKING CAFE
To learn a foreign language is quite important for all young people for their future professional life. Although they could learn good level of English, usually they are facing problems of practising and using the language fluently. With this reason Izmit Municipality has opened a cafe, in which young people can spend their leisure times and practice their language skils.The Speaking Cafe is located in the hearth of the city and it is unique in the region. In the cafe, almost everyday different activities are organized for young people. Only spoken language in the cafe is; English. Any other language is forbidden to speak. The workers of the cafe also are obliged to speak English to encourage people who are coming to the cafe.

Perfil: This EVS project is open for any young volunteer candidates between the ages 18 and 30, from Programme Countries, regardless of their origin and background, ethnic group, religion or political ideas who are willing to attend to the proposed activities to the whole duration of the stage.

The profiles of volunteer we would like to have in our organization are below:
High motivated to continuously work with staff of Speaking Cafe and be motivated to work in flexible working conditions.open-minded to activities with young people in many areas (outdoor activity, social intervention, public participation) ;

having a strong interest in the language learning/teaching field described above;

be responsible for his/her actions;

motivated to develop good communication and social skills;

functional English skills is necessary.

Educated or experience on language teaching and voluntary background is an asset.

Tarefas: Tasks:

- Cooperation with staff

- Being responsible of organising activities for young people

- Preperaring promotinal documents about the cafe

- Assisting coordinator of the cafe

- Organising Conversation Club activities and implementing

- Facilitating Educational Fun Games in the Cafe

Condições: The organization will provide a hosting place for the volunteer in the city which is clean, quiet and safe. The place is also near to the hospital and police office.
Working place of the volunteer is also in Izmit Municipality so Izmit Municipality gurantees all secural conditions for volunteer in any situation.
The volunteer have his/her meals with hygienic conditions.
