Resumo: (elderly house)
Special social care home is a modern institution the purpose of which is to assure the long-term social care of fully or partially dependent elderly people and to ensure secure and dignified aging. Preference to be accommodated is given to the exiles.
Exiles are Lithuanians who were forcefully repatriated to labour camps and Gulags (prison camps) in Siberia by Soviet government. At the moment we have 80 people, aged 66-100. The care home is located in a peaceful place surrounded by a beautiful forest and the river Neris, you can reach it with a public transport. The care home maintains an active bond with the local community: with a centre for Art and Education as well as with the people living in the surrounding area. NOTE: for this opportunity we are able to host only residents of EU countries.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
Respect, self-motivated in work with retired people, willingness to develop a bond nonverbally, patience, equal attentiveness towards each and every one, initiative, positive attitude towards the work, process- oriented, ability to adjust to pace of a team. Tarefas: social, personal support, developmental activities (like sports, reading, conversations, other skills) for elderly people who are dependant on constant care.

Condições: The volunteer will be hosted in flat together with other volunteers. Each volunteer will have their own room. A monthly bus card will be provided. Volunteers will receive food and pocket money every month. Nevertheless, volunteer will have people who will take care of them during the project: tutor (person in hosting organizaion), mentor (personal support) and project coordinator.
