Resumo: (City Public Library)
Volunteers will work with the local community in onebranch of the City Public Library, which is a hive of activity and a great place for the local community to meet, learn new things and have the use of many facilities. Library is a place full of books - but for sure it is not boring! As it may be the only cultural centre in some districts, Public Libraries offer more than just books. They propose children’s programs, workshops and many interesting events for local communities in various ways. And for this purpose they need the support of volunteers, to make their offer more valuable and interesting.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

We are looking for 1 volunteer who will be communicative and open for new experiences, creative and inventive. It is welcome if the volunteer has basic English language skills and is willing to study Polish. The volunteer should be interested in methods of active education, open for people from other countries and cultures and willing to co-operate and work in group.S/he should be open-minded. We are searching for young people, who would contribute to the actions taken by the library and would like to develop his/her personality. Being interested in literature and librarian’s tasks or some artistic skills would be a positive asset taken into consideration during the recruitment process

Tarefas: Our aim is to meet cultural needs of our society. The assumption of this project is that one volunteer could realize his project in two dedicated branches, but this does not exclude the activities and cooperation with other branches. Each branch of thelibrary has a specific profile and different target and age groups they work with . It influences the range of the tasks for a volunteer to do. Volunteer will have the opportunity to broaden their own knowledge and creativity. At tthe beginning s/he will watch the activities, which will be conducted in the Library and become familiar with other duties of the librarians. With the time, the volunteer will be able to conduct workshops on their own. Help is needed in all kinds of tasks, some simple and some more complex.

In each branch the volunteer will support employers of the library in their daily tasks.
It includes helping with:
- working with guests
- preparing and conducting different activities for groups of children/ youth /adults
- keeping materials and space in good shape; working with books, CDs, and other
- library materials;
- typical librarian's work : labeling; creating displays, planning and presenting programs; books and shelves maintaining.
- Preparing and leading at least one English conversation workshop per week.
- Leading it in his/her own native language as well is possible option.
- Preparing and leading presentations about your country, at least 2 times in different branches of the Public Library
- Organizing events and workshops of the coordinating organization Centre for Youth Cooperation and Mobility
- other tasks that are assigned to each branch ( you can find them below)

The volunteer will have the opportunity to propose personal projects and lead workshop about a topic of his/her interest depending on the space and possibilities of the library
