Resumo: The hosting organization is a self-governing institution. We operate on grants from the Danish government and on fees from the students. The organization is a Danish Efterskole and operates under the laws of such.

The organization offers a Danish way of teaching for 14-18 year-olds.

Typical of this way of teaching is that the students live at school.

The organization is a Grundtvigian way of teaching which means that the everyday life at school is based on openness, equality, closeness and community.

The everyday life at school focuses on both regular teaching, the teaching of crafts and creative skills, sports and movement classes.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
Volunteers with interest in creative subjects, sports and movement and if possible languages such as Spanish, German and English are a big plus. However, we welcome all nationalities.

Tarefas: The volunteer will get the opportunity to participate as a teacher’s assistant or create his/her own elective course. Currently the school offers the following elective courses: Badminton, arts, table tennis, challenge, dancing, E-sport, fitness, soccer, gymnastics, arts and crafts, handball, media, music, psychology, horseback riding, swimming, woodshop and metal.

In addition, the volunteer will have the opportunity to arrange and participate in activities outside of the regular classes such as movie nights, food ball matches etc.

The volunteer will have regular meetings with the mentor. The purpose is that the mentor together with the volunteer set up some learning goals and also involve the volunteer in the process of developing the activities in relation to his/her interests and skills.

However, the typical tasks at Halvorsminde will be both practical work with the caretaker at the school, work in the kitchen or tasks related to teaching. It can be both in relation to language classes, sport classes and other creative classes.

Further, evening activities and events for the students can be arranged by the volunteers in corporation with the staff.

Horário: Working hours: 30-38 hours/week

All volunteers save up to 2 holidays every month.

Condições: The volunteer will stay and live at the school. The volunteer will have his/her three meals provided by the organization.

As a part of the European Solidarity Corps program, the following is covered by us:

International transport is covered to a certain amount. The EU sets a budget depending on the distance to our office. If you travel in a green way your budget will be higher!

Food and accommodation
Allowance/pocket money: 220 euro in total: 180 euro (decided by the department of the EU) + 40 euro from the local department.
Transportation covered: from home to project and from home to language school (if chosen).
