Resumo: Kielce is the capital of Swietokrzyskie province with 900-year-old history. It is located on the south- east of Poland in the heart of the oldest mountains in Europe - Swietokrzyskie Mountains.
Today's Kielce, with its 200.000 inhabitants, is now an economic, administrative, scientific, and cultural center, the capital of one of the sixteen voivodeships in Poland. In terms of its economy, the city is dominated by the electro-machinery, construction, and building materials industries. The majority of people are employed in industry, construction firms, commerce, public utilities, housing, and transportation. Unfortunately, the rate of unemployment is one of the highest in Poland. Kielce is also students' city with 12 high schools, and one of the best faculty of pedagogy in Poland.
Volunteer Centre is the biggest and the most experienced organizations working with volunteers in our region, and also one of the biggest ngo supporting organizations in Kielce. From the beginning of our Centre we are creating the association as a professional organization open for all the people that want to act for their environment. Because of specific situation in our city, we are mostly acting with the students. For them the chance of voluntary work is also a chance to get the experience in the job that they want to do after the studies. Most of our volunteers are the students of the faculty of pedagogy, specialized with kids' education, working with disabled people, people with social and economical difficulties. We are working also with future teachers, educators, nurses, journalists and managers that use volunteering as a chance to put the theory they learn at the universities to practice. Volunteer Centre is co-operating as a partner organization with hospitals, theatres, philharmonic, museums, youth clubs, schools and kindergartens where our volunteers are permanently needed.

Tarefas: We decided to organize an EVS project to support all activities that are running under our Centre. We want to use EVS as a possibility to develop new ideas and new initiatives in our organization. We also want to give a chance for all interested volunteers to work for our programs, projects and specific actions, to give them the chance to learn how does our initiatives works, occasion to learn from our staff and experience the work with other volunteers.
Main goal of the Volunteer Centre is to promote volunteering and to support volunteers in our region. We are working with all the people that are ready to work for other organizations, people or their environment as a volunteers. Our office is providing the job agency for volunteers. We are also helping to the volunteers to work with their projects or coaching their own initiatives and local activities.

From 2005 we have been an independent association. The main aims of our organization is to help to the people understand the idea of volunteering, educate youth about alternative ways of spending spare time and helping to the others.
Volnteer Centre is running following programmes:

Job Exchange Office for volunteers - The Centre's main activity. We are helping to the people to find a place where they can use their skills as volunteers. We are also preparing new volunteers for such job by teaching them about basics of Polish law about volunteering, and about non-governmental organizations. Our volunteers are working for non-governmental organizations, cultural organizations, public administration, schools, kindergartens, during sports events, festivals, charity actions, and as a support for older and disabled people in daily activities. We are also preparing courses and workshops for organizations leaders and co-ordinators to prepare them to engage volunteers into their activities. We are working with everyone that want to become a volunteer. The most of users of our job office are students that are using volunteerng as a practice before the regular job.
Within this programme we support the existing Volunter Centres in our region and also creating new ones. Project is supporting the stuff of the offices with training curses and know-how about running the volunteer centre and promoting the volunteering on the local level, especially as a chance for unemployed people to get back to labour market.
