Resumo: The project wants to involve a group of volunteers into social activities aimed to encourage young people participation, and it will focus on social and economic integration, inclusion and healthy initiatives. Participants will support local volunteers and staffs of three homeless centers in Palermo.

Perfil: Volunteers should be: interested in supporting organizations working with and for vulnerable people; interested in the topic of the project (social inclusion, integrations, community life, inequality); aged 18-30; ready to interact with people with different kinds of vulnerability and different social and economic background; willing to actively participate and be flexible, participating also in manual work and/or at the night time; open-minded, sociable, empathetic. Participants have to be available to work during Christmas and other festive days, except from the 1st of the year.

Tarefas: The activities, that will have place during Christmas time, will be implemented in small groups in shift, and these may include: maintenance of the spaces, support to the canteen service and the afternoon activities; support to the street unit in the night activities; welcoming homeless people to one of the accommodation facilities. ESC volunteers will implement these activities together with local volunteers, and in collaboration with the guests of the residential venues. The activities will have place in different places of Palermo and different moment of the day, depending on the activities.

Condições: Accommodation will be in a basic hostel located in the city centre, in three-bed or four-bed rooms with private bathroom. Breakfast will be served at the hostel. Meals will be provided by the hosting organizations.
