Resumo: (Montessori School)
The hosting organization is a day care centre for children from the age of 3 until they start school. We work on
the basis of Maria Montessori's reform pedagogical concept according to the guiding principle Help me to do it
myself. Children enjoy doing and moving. The prepared environment takes these needs into account: sensory
material, exercises from daily life, material from the areas of language, mathematics and geography invite them to
engage in action. Regular movement is also part of our concept.

The Montessori School is a state-approved alternative school for grades 1-4, which works according to the principles of Montessori education. Freedom, enthusiasm, own experience and responsibility are important cornerstones of our educational concept. All areas of school learning such as language, mathematics, geography, history, biology, art and music are structured in such a way that the child first gets a rough overview of the connections in the world. Learning opportunities are often embedded in stories and narratives that make the connections clear. Presentations in the form of experiments provide access to physics, chemistry and biology. The children can continue their research independently in small groups. The Montessori School works in cross-age learning groups.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
The biggest component of our work is the contact with the children and pupils in our learning space in the form of
learning support according to the principles of Maria Montessori. Therefore, we wish that you are courageous to get
in contact with children. Not being shy, being interested in their topics and being open to other people and
situations are certainly qualities that will make your start with us easier. We do not expect any special educational
qualifications. Of course, you will not be able to communicate perfectly in German from the beginning, but we think
that there are many ways to communicate outside of language (gestures, facial expressions).

If you have already gained first impressions in the field of Montessori education, this will certainly be helpful for your start with us. It is also great if you can quickly find your way around new environments. This can make it easier to plan bus tours with the children or to research learning opportunities.

The most important aspect for us is that you want to be part of our team for the duration of your service and have
contact with the children. We are happy if you bring your own interests and skills into our team.

Tarefas: Basically, we see you as an additional support, so we see your role as a support person first and foremost. In the first period, it is important to us that you have a good arrival period and gradually find your way around the language.

During this time, the focus is on aspects such as networking, contact with learners and getting to know the
structures. In the second part of your voluntary service, we would like to give you more and more responsibility.

We are happy if you support us in the learning support and are interested in the children. In particular, we have in
mind the support in our research workshop, but also in the daily life of the pupils. In practice, interest-based learning always requires a lot of support in preparation and implementation. The pupils set out in their everyday lives to explore their questions and interests independently. This requires a lot of staff. For example, if the students are interested in bees, they have the opportunity to set out on their own, visit people who know about beekeeping and thus learn on the spot in practice.

We would like you to accompany the learners on their self-determined learning projects (going outs). Support them on this journey and thus enable them to move in their learning spaces and not tie them to the school building. In the third part, we would like you to support the children independently in their learning experiences.

Your tasks will vary depending on your area of work. In the accompaniment of the children in the children's house, it
is about everyday accompaniment and about creating learning spaces for the children in which they can learn
according to the principles of Montessori.

In which they can learn by doing according to the principles of Montessori. In practical terms, this means that you
spend the day in the group and are involved in everything from drying tears, accompanying the children at
mealtimes, designing learning spaces, supporting them at mealtimes. A large part of our work is the independence of
he children in everyday life. The Montessori pedagogy gives a lot of responsibility to each child and so we see
ourselves as learning companions in everyday life and we are happy when we get additional support from you.
We would like to give you the opportunity to recognize your own learning goals in regular reflection meetings and
would like to support you in implementing these within our framework. At the end of your voluntary service, you will
receive a Youth Pass certificate from us, which documents your work and your learning progress.
