Resumo: The hosting organization is a place where people with mental illness come to rebuild their lives. The participants are called members, not patients, and the focus is on their strengths, not their illness. Work in the clubhouse provides the core healing process. Every opportunity provided is the result of the efforts of the members and staff who work side by side in unique partnership. One of the most important steps members take toward greater independence is transitional employment where they work in the community in real jobs. Members also receive assistance in securing housing, advancing their education, obtaining good psychiatric and medical care, and maintaining public benefits.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
The volunteer must be mature, outgoing and willing to work with people who have struggled with mental illnesses and want to partake in society in a constructive way. The project is open to new ideas the volunteer can bring, therefore we are looking for a volunteer who could develop his/her personal project (art, craft, sport, language courses, or any other ideas).

Tarefas: The volunteer will be asked to assist the staff and the members of the Clubhouse to carry on various tasks, such as kitchen, administration, cleaning, etc. The role of the volunteer will be based on his/her strength and interest. He/she will be a caring friend for the members.

Condições: The volunteer will live in a flat with other ESC volunteers and will have a private room. The volunteer will receive food money and a bus card will be provided for the whole duration of the stay.
