Resumo: The peculiarity of our region was formed from the merger of independent municipalities, which were formerly separate villages. Today the region consists of six districts. Each has its own character, its own identity. Future topics such as citizenship, municipal council and city administration are being discussed in a broad dialogue.

As mayor of the city stands for this mission statement and its clear goals. One of the most important goals is to promote the citizens' trust in the city administration and to give them the certainty that they will be served optimally by all organizational units of the city administration.
The volunteers of the European Solidarity Corps are placed in six community centers and will be involved in other activities/projects of the city such as coordination office for civic engagement, volunteer agency Fenster, repair-café, eins plus b (parents in the network language plus education). The overall management and coordination are taken over by our head office in the department Social Interaction and Living in Old Age (see organisational capacity).

Tarefas: The European Volunteers will be deployed in the municipal meeting places and will there be involved in weekly activities as well as in regular events. The city’s meeting places facilitate encounters for all citizens and are open to all generations and cultures.
In the course of the European Voluntary Service, you will get to know further municipal institutions such as the volunteer agency, the repair café as well as intercultural educational projects. Moreover, the European Volunteers are encouraged and supported to develop specific activities for the guests of the meeting places (e. g. cooking or baking international dishes). It will be their role to foster cultural richness as well as to convey a positive image of Europe and European solidarity.
The Volunteers will receive accommodation, a monthly allowance of 150 €, a daily subsistence allowance as well as a German language course. Travel fees will be covered. During your service, you will benefit from the mandatory insurances. You will be taking part in different workshops and will receive a mentorship at your place of work.
