Resumo: CIDJ was established in 1969 by the french Ministry of Youth and Sports in order to carry out the following mission : inform young people on all topics which are relevant to them, such as education, training, employment, rights, health, environment, sports, European and international mobility...
All services provided by CIDJ comply with the French and the European Youth Information Charter and aim at offering free and adequate information to every young person, regardless of their status. No appointments are required. The missions of CIDJ are carried out by professionnal Youth Information workers who are trained counsellors and are available on a permanent basis in order to address each enquiry in a customized way. CIDJ co-ordinates a network of more than 1300 information centres across the country.
The french Youth Information network reaches out around 5 million young people every year. Since 1997, CIDJ has been a sending organisation for volunteering in the framework of the EVS. To this day, more than 750 young people have volunteered abroad with support from CIDJ. We also hosted 19 young people in our organization since we were first accreditated. We coordinate projects to facilitate hosting young volunteers in the Youth Information services of the Ile de France region.
As a Youth Information Center, we actively promote the European Solidarity Corps and offer support to all young people who are interested in committing to a volunteering projetct abroad in this framework.
