Resumo: (environment)
The hosting organization is an association managing a community of young internationals living in an eco place, near the city. It is structured around an old farmhouse and follows ecology and degrowth economics principles and hosts people wishing to participate or to stay as passengers or as volunteers.

The vocation of the organization is: To inspire so we can create empowerment and growth.

Then, the association aims at empowering people to find the best versions of themselves, through community life, informal education, training, development of European solidarity projects, the organization of events and workshops. It providesthe space for curious people to find new ways of creating positive outcomes with limited resources.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

We are open to the participation of all types of persons, regardless of their origins, culture, education,
language, sexual orientation and beliefs. In fact, the organization tends to work in an inclusive way and wants to give the opportunity to all motivated and interested persons in the issue of plastic!

Concerning the project of recycling, we are looking for persons interested in energizing the roles of :
- Mechanical Electricity (for the Shredder of plastic)
- Local development (to connect with the locals for the event and activities)
- Product designing (to design new objects from the plastic trash)
- Plastic engineering (to nourish the team with possibilities around plastic)
- Animation ! (to launch the animation & workshop phase with the local school)

Furthermore, you will participate in the daily life of the community and may have a role there as well there.
We would also ask you to spend approximately two hours for the project and three hours for community life
(gardening, cooking, joining the meetings & workshops, etc).

Tarefas: The goal of the project is to bring people from different cultures together with locals to increase plastic awareness and provide a long-term social consciousness. Educating people with presentations, collecting plastic from the local people, using recycling machines, and making small plastic objects altogether will strengthen solidarity. We aim to reduce plastic consumption and increase the use of recycled plastic objects with the joint responsibilities of the team members. As a result, we will create positive social and environmental change.


We have four fields of activity that will interact together:
Partnership and communication: We will visit some associations (Precious Plastic makerspaces, plastic collection places, etc.) to inform our team about plastics. We will stay in contact throughout the year with La Palanquée, find new partners, meet with schools and municipalities, and interact with local populations.

Collecting and sorting plastics: We will come to an agreement with municipalities to place plastic collection containers in each local area. Every week we will bringlocals’ plastic to the organization with our electric cargo bike. At the organization, we will separate the plastic according to its type and clean the dirtiest ones.

Using the machines & creating objects: We will turn the plastics into small pieces with our shredder. Then some of them will become small objects with the organization's alternative machines (life 3rd printer filament, jewelry, pieces for boat). The others will be sent to another place to be melted down, shaped, and transformed into new objects.

Workshops and events: We will organize various workshops to raise awareness of plastic issues. Some of them will be held in the organization and others in another place. The locals will have the opportunity to recycle their own plastic at these two sites.

Condições: Accomocation
The accommodation is included in the complete experience of community life: the volunteer will then share a bedroom on the site of the organization with another European volunteer. Moreover, she or he will share the common spaces (bathroom, kitchen, etc) with the rest of the onsite community.

Pocket Money
Participants in volunteering activities will receive a 6€ per day for their personal expenses for six months.

Transport
Arrival and departure transport costs to the organization will be covered.

Food
Food costs are covered. The communıty cooks 3 vegan meals a day.
You wıll be able nonetheless to cook your own food ıf wanted.
